Notes from the dealer
This truck appeals to drivers seeking a balance of efficiency, capability, and comfortâ"whether for city commuting, weekend projects, or Midwest weather challenges. Heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and remote start system make it a strong choice for those facing cold mornings, especially in places like Sw Mt Vernon, IA. The non-smoker and one-owner history add to its appeal for buyers who prioritize vehicle condition and long-term value. Families and professionals alike benefit from the flexible interior and connectivity features, making daily errands or longer journeys more convenient.
On the road, the Maverick XLT's EcoBoost 2.0L engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission provides smooth and responsive acceleration, ideal for merging onto highways or navigating city streets. The AWD system enhances grip on wet or uneven surfaces, supporting confident handling year-round. While offering truck utility, it maintains an efficient EPA estimate of 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, so routine commuting and road trips are cost-effective. The composed chassis and independent suspension help deliver a comfortable ride, even with cargo in the bed.
Safety features are integrated to enhance driver awareness and accident avoidance. Lane Keep Assist helps correct unintentional lane departures by providing gentle steering input, while Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking can detect potential frontal collisions and apply the brakes if necessary. The rear camera offers clear visibility when reversing or parking, and Auto High-Beam Headlights adjust automatically for optimal nighttime visibility. Additional systems like ABS brakes, traction control, and electronic stability control contribute to stable handling in challenging conditions.
The truck is equipped with the Black Appearance Package, featuring distinct black grille, black painted mirrors, and black interior accents for a bold look. The XLT Luxury Package adds heated seats, a soft vinyl wrapped heated steering wheel, and advanced connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SYNC 4 system with 5G FordPass Connect enables modern infotainment and remote features. LED box lighting, a 400W inverter with USB console, and unique cloth front bucket seats enhance everyday utility. The equipment group 302A further refines comfort and convenience.
Against other midsize trucks like the Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado, the Maverick XLT stands out with its fuel efficiency and strong feature set for daily use. Its AWD and turbocharged engine offer a blend of traction and power that meets diverse driving needs, while the combination of comfort and advanced technology elevates it over competitors that may lack such a comprehensive suite at this mileage and ownership profile. The truck's Ford Gold Certified status and transferable warranties further enhance its high value and peace of mind.
What are the key features of this truck? Heated seats, a heated steering wheel, Lane Keep Assist, rear camera, remote start, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and the Black Appearance Package are all included. How does it perform in daily driving? The turbocharged engine and AWD system provide smooth, responsive driving and traction in all weather.

Nice little truck with great MPG
by Alex on 7/18/2026 2:12:33 AM
I drive a lot for my job and this truck has been great for its MPG. I switched to this from a Bronco sport and they handle very much the same. However I was only getting 25 MPG with that. Averaging 41 with the Mav! - 5.0
2nd Mav
by Generalmgr on 5/10/2026 12:26:28 PM
2025 Lariat hybrid AWD. Had a 2023 2.0 XLT. No real complaints about either. Hybrid efficiency around town is great, like 50 mpg. Highway at 70mph I’m only getting 33-34. Tows my 2-ATV trailer ok, but plan ahead if any get up and go is needed. The truck has plenty of torque at lower speeds but the lack of power at higher speeds is noticeable. This is my first EVT, didn’t think I’d like it but it really works perfectly. The best part is going downhill… the truck will maintain the speed you’re at when you lift off the gas. When the truck transitions from electric to gas, there is zero indication…no noise or shudder…zero. If you’re not looking at the dash you’d never know what mode the truck is in. The Lariat hybrid is much quieter overall than the EB. Auto headlights work really well. Did great in the heavy snow we had this year. Lane centering works very well. Few nitpicks: no fog light option? C’mon man. I’m not a fan of the touch only hvac controls, and they lag a bit on startup. The various menus in the dash cluster and in the infotainment screen are not at all intuitive, they are ridiculously bad….whoever signed off on those needs to find another profession. Good thing you don’t have to do much in there once you have things set up the way you like. I wish the truck had a slightly bigger battery…it would be nice to be able to go a a mile or two on electric only if you’re in Eco mode. The Lariat should have a super-cruise option, and a built in dash cam option. A cold weather package would be icing on the cake , especially if it included covering up the various under body areas that appear vulnerable from being open to the elements. Overall: yes I’d buy another Maverick, and I do recommend them to others….but… if other manufacturers come out with a truck that has all my wish list items, then I’d consider switching. - 5.0
A versatile vehicle! 2023 Mav Tremor
by TremorNV on 11/23/2025 3:02:38 AM
I went with the Tremor trim for more off-road capability. So far there hasn’t been a thing I couldn’t do with this Mav. I’ve gone on long road trips, explored rough trails, loaded lumber, hauled a sectional, towed a side by side with it, driven in Tahoe snow and many other things. First, I’d say it’s actually a fun drive. It really sticks to road and handling it is super easy. Yes, it has a plastic interior and the tech does feel a little outdated but you get what you pay for. It’s a 33k mini truck. I haven’t had any issues. The heated steering wheel is the hottest of any other one I’ve had. It has over gotten stuck on me and the bed is like 6.5 ft long with the tail gate down. Capable of hauling ten foot wood, which I’ve done. The gas mileage on my Tremor (Awd eco boost) is 28-29, which makes me happy. Truthfully, back in 2019 when Ford brought the Ranger back… it should have been this truck. It’s a great little truck, beats the Santa Cruz any day!
