2024 Chevrolet Traverse Z71

Notes from the dealer
Analytical buyers who scrutinize spec sheets will appreciate how this SUV combines advanced features and practicality. With standard all-wheel drive and rear air conditioning, it's well-suited to handle the seasonal transitions in places like eastern Iowaâ"perfect for anyone who needs peace of mind during winter commutes or summer road trips. The spacious interior with split-bench third-row seating answers the call for those who research not just sticker price, but also everyday usability and cost-efficient versatility.
The Traverse's 2.5L DOHC engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission provides a well-balanced powertrain that delivers smooth acceleration and low operating costs. With EPA ratings of 19 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, the SUV offers competitive fuel efficiency for its segment, which translates to real-world savings over the life of the vehicle. The AWD system ensures confident traction in adverse conditions, and the modest mileage of 15,775 miles suggests low wear, supporting a longer-term value proposition for cost-conscious drivers.
Safety value is a highlight here: the Traverse Z71 includes a suite of standard active safety features such as ABS brakes, electronic stability control, dual front and side impact airbags, and an exterior parking camera. Automatic high-beam headlights add visibility without requiring an upgrade, while the emergency communication system and traction control are built in for additional peace of mind. Unlike some competitors that reserve these essentials for higher trims or packages, this SUV makes them part of the baseline offering, reducing out-of-pocket expenses for safety.
Standard equipment in this model goes beyond the basics, with comforts like dual-zone automatic temperature control, heated steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration. Family-friendly touches such as rear air conditioning and a split-bench third row make daily use smoother, while premium cloth seat trim and a 12-speaker audio system elevate both style and sound. Navigation and SiriusXM with 360L keep the cabin connected and entertained, all without the need to opt into expensive upgrade bundles.
When measured against segment rivals like the Ford Explorer XLT and Honda Pilot TrailSport, the Traverse Z71 asserts its value by offering more included features at a comparable price. While some competitors require buyers to purchase add-on packages for navigation or a heated steering wheel, these are already standard here, maximizing value without compromising quality. The SUVâs AWD and moderate mileage further reinforce its standing as a smart choice for buyers seeking equipment-rich versatility in the midsize SUV market.
What features come standard? The Traverse Z71 includes navigation, heated front seats, a power liftgate, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto as standard. Is it worth the price? Given its comprehensive suite of features and AWD, the value exceeds what many competitors offer for similar money. Which trim offers the best value? The Z71 trim balances advanced technology, comfort, and safety at a price that undercuts many rivals' add-on-heavy packages.

Mean looking SUV that looks more like a truck

Man, Chevrolet just hit it out of the park with this one. The redesigned 2024 Traverse looks like a truck. Bigger than any other mid-sized SUV, more space compared to all midsize SUVs, best looking mid sized SUV. Everything is grand and big. Very comfortable seats. Engine is 4-cyl with turbo and works adequately. Will make a sound when accelerated or pushed hard but not a deal breaker. The infotainment system/screen and tech is amazing. Rear view camera, park assist, 360 degree camera. Ambient lighting. Mind blown! My first American car after having 4 japanese cars (3 Mazdas and 1 Suzuki) and 1 German (BMW). I am amazed. Hopefully this wont break because I am hearing complaints about failed transmission from some Z71 AWD twin clutch vehicles. I get an average of about 22 in city and 28 on the highways. Wish there was a hybrid option but then I remembered Toyota Grand Highlander has a stop sale on their models. Honda pilot, Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade doesn't have as of writing this review in Sep 2024. Mazda CX-90 was my other choice but it has no space in the 3rd row and behind the 3rd row. This traverse a decent sized adult can easily fit in the 3rd row. The steering wheel is so thick and suspension very soft. Comfortable for families who love some flare!
