Notes from the dealer
Drivers who crave involvement behind the wheel will appreciate the Traverse RSâs communicative steering, balanced handling, and supportive sport seats. This SUV is ideal for those who demand more than point-and-shoot drivingâ"people who relish subtle chassis responses and precise control on winding roads. Features like a heated sport steering wheel and paddle shifters ensure every journey is engaging, whether itâs a spirited backroad run or the daily grind.
The Traverse RSâs 2.5L DOHC engine delivers eager throttle response and confident acceleration, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that snaps off shifts quickly in manual mode. The transmissionâs sport calibration holds gears through corners, allowing drivers to exploit the wide torque band. Steering weight is progressive, with feedback that communicates both grip and surface changes, while the four-wheel independent suspension blends poise and comfort. Braking is strong, with a linear pedal that inspires confidence.
Safety technology in the Traverse RS works withâ"not againstâ"the driver. Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control intervene smoothly, correcting slides without abrupt cut-ins that sap momentum. Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning gently nudge the SUV back on course but never override driver command. Blind Spot Monitoring and a 360-degree camera system bolster awareness during spirited drives, while Adaptive Cruise Control maintains a safe gap on highways without dulling driver engagement.
This RS trim surrounds the driver with amenities that enhance every drive. Navigation is crisp and responsive, while the Bose 10-speaker audio system fills the cabin with immersive sound. Heated and ventilated leather seats offer support for long drives and spirited cornering. Dual-zone climate control, a panoramic moonroof, and a power-folding third row make this SUV as practical as it is enjoyable. Second-row bucket seats add comfort for passengers and maintain a cockpit-like atmosphere up front.
Against rivals like the Ford Explorer ST and Kia Telluride SX, the Traverse RS distinguishes itself with sharper steering feel and a more connected chassis. While competitors focus on outright power or luxury, this SUV prioritizes driver engagement and feedback. Its blend of advanced features, roominess, and rewarding handling makes it a compelling choice for enthusiasts who want versatility without sacrificing fun.
The Traverse RS excels as a driverâs SUVâ"engaging on twisty roads, with a responsive transmission in sport mode and steering that communicates every nuance of the pavement. The suspension strikes a rare balance: firm enough for spirited driving, yet supple on rough surfaces. Drivers often ask if an SUV can be funâ"this one is, turning commutes and weekend getaways into rewarding experiences. Active safety aids assist without intruding, ensuring confidence without dulling the drive.

Mean looking SUV that looks more like a truck
by Anonymous Reviewer on 10/24/2024 7:33:54 PM
Man, Chevrolet just hit it out of the park with this one. The redesigned 2024 Traverse looks like a truck. Bigger than any other mid-sized SUV, more space compared to all midsize SUVs, best looking mid sized SUV. Everything is grand and big. Very comfortable seats. Engine is 4-cyl with turbo and works adequately. Will make a sound when accelerated or pushed hard but not a deal breaker. The infotainment system/screen and tech is amazing. Rear view camera, park assist, 360 degree camera. Ambient lighting. Mind blown! My first American car after having 4 japanese cars (3 Mazdas and 1 Suzuki) and 1 German (BMW). I am amazed. Hopefully this wont break because I am hearing complaints about failed transmission from some Z71 AWD twin clutch vehicles. I get an average of about 22 in city and 28 on the highways. Wish there was a hybrid option but then I remembered Toyota Grand Highlander has a stop sale on their models. Honda pilot, Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade doesn't have as of writing this review in Sep 2024. Mazda CX-90 was my other choice but it has no space in the 3rd row and behind the 3rd row. This traverse a decent sized adult can easily fit in the 3rd row. The steering wheel is so thick and suspension very soft. Comfortable for families who love some flare!
