Notes from the dealer
Pragmatic drivers seeking a sports coupe with a reputation for reliability and strong resale will appreciate this Mustangâs robust powertrain and classic design. Leather-trimmed, heated and cooled seats, dual-zone climate control, and advanced tech features cater to buyers who value comfort and modern amenities without sacrificing the proven longevity or affordable maintenance associated with this model line.
Efficiency and longevity shape the Mustang's performance story. The 5.0L V8 engine is recognized for its 150,000+ mile reputation with regular maintenance, and the 6-speed manual transmission is engineered for durability. Although not a fuel-sipper, the powertrainâs robust engineering means lower frequency of major repairs, contributing to lower cost of ownership over time despite its performance focus.
Safety investments in this coupe directly protect long-term value. Advanced features such as ABS brakes, electronic stability control, dual front and side impact airbags, a rearview camera, and Fordâs 911 Assist emergency system help prevent incidents and minimize repair costs. These active systems are designed to reduce accident likelihood, preserving vehicle condition and resale prospects.
This GT Premium trim includes sought-after features such as leather bucket seats, power-adjustable front seats, heated and cooled seat functions, SYNC 3 infotainment with SiriusXM radio, reverse sensing system, and fully automatic HID headlights. Such equipment not only enhances daily comfort but also sustains desirability in the used market, supporting higher retained value over time.
Compared to the Chevrolet Camaro SS and Dodge Challenger R/T, the Mustang offers lower average maintenance costs and stronger resale performance, supported by industry awards for brand image and cool factor. Depreciation rates are competitive, and the Mustangâs track record for reliability and owner satisfaction often translates into lower long-term ownership expenses.
Typical oil change intervals are every 5,000 miles, while major service is generally required every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. The V8âs fuel economy averages around 15 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Fordâs warranty on this model originally included a 3-year/36,000-mile basic and 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain coverage. The Mustangâs reliability is well-documented, with many examples surpassing 150,000 miles with routine care.

Turbo 4 cylinder ... but not bad
by Tank on 12/3/2025 8:12:32 AM
The best of all worlds for a daily driver if you are willing to give up a little comfort for some extra horse power and the lower mpg that come with it. - 5.0

Test drive upgrades completed
by Nicholas on 10/25/2025 5:05:38 AM
‘15 GT premium mods completed at 30k miles. Roush 727hp, Phase 2 SS with 620 foot torc pounds. Soft pedal, McLeod RST 800HP rated clutch assembly, lightened steel flywheel, steel braided hydraulic hose, Barton hybrid short throw shifter and programmer to reset “Crank Relearn” fault. Added X-Pipe and K-Brace, mounted summer and winter staggered tires and wheels. Z-26 pads & disc rotors after one high speed stop at 30k mi. Charger fixed the flat spot in the speed band. A cold start momentary tick noise was a loose piece of metal in the exhaust manifold at 20k mi. Ford replaced complete exhaust system. Added a carbon fiber GT-350 spoiler and stripes. Highly recommend seat harness upgrade if sold. Reset hydraulic plastic hose at brake master cylinder reservoir leaking near fire wall on first day. Replaced backup camera. Door Handel recall inspection caused both windows to open if car bounced when driven.
