Notes from the dealer
This SUV is tailored for buyers who scrutinize every line of the spec sheet and want assurance that their money secures meaningful benefits. In the Sw Mt Vernon, IA region, where changing weather and diverse terrain are routine, the Escape SE's 4WD system and heated seats provide real functional advantages. The inclusion of advanced infotainment and comfort features means value-focused families, commuters, and professionals receive a well-rounded vehicle without upgrading to higher trims. Those who compare trim levels closely will find that the SE trim balances must-have tech and comfort, ensuring they receive a feature-rich vehicle without overpaying for extras they may not use.
Engineered around Ford's 1.5L EcoBoost and a 6-speed automatic transmission, the Escape SE offers a blend of performance and efficiency that's rare among similarly priced compact SUVs. Its EPA-rated 22 city and 28 highway mpg figures translate to fewer fuel stops and tangible savings over time. The EcoBoost engineâs turbocharged design delivers smooth, responsive acceleration for city traffic and highway merging, while the 4WD drivetrain adds confidence in slippery conditions. Maintenance is straightforward and cost-effective, with wide parts availability and accessible service, helping owners control long-term operating costs.
Safety value is a core strength, as the Escape SE comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of standard features that often cost extra on competitors. Key elements include a rearview camera, ABS brakes, traction and stability control, and a robust airbag system with dual front and side impact airbags, as well as a knee airbag. The SYNC 3 911 Assist system provides emergency communication capability at no added cost, translating to peace of mind in critical moments. Unlike some rivals that require optional packages for these basics, the Escape SE delivers them up front, reinforcing its value-first approach without hidden surcharges.
The standard feature set of this SUV covers daily comfort and tech needs, with heated unique cloth front bucket seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration streamlines smartphone connectivity, while the reverse sensing system and exterior parking camera rear enhance parking ease and safety.
When comparing value to segment alternatives like the Honda CR-V EX and Toyota RAV4 XLE, the Escape SE stands out by including heated seats and advanced infotainment as standard, while these features often require pricier trims or packages on rivals.
Whatâs included as standard equipment? Heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, advanced smartphone integration, 4WD, reverse sensing, and a power driver seat are all standard. Is this SUV worth the price? Given its robust feature set and proven non-smoker history, it provides excellent value compared to segment norms.

Great shape I love it for the price and the gas mileage and everything else is great I think it’s a great fit for the job but unfortunately I think it will cost more money to get a new car so I’m not sure if it’s fair to say that you should buy a new one - 4.0
