Notes from the dealer
Pragmatic buyers seeking a dependable midsize SUV with minimal downtime and high retained value will find the Edge ST Line well suited to everyday needs. Its ActiveX heated seating, power liftgate, and dual-zone climate control enhance daily convenience, while Fordâs reputation for longevity ensures that maintenance is predictable and unscheduled repairs are rare, making it an attractive choice for families and professionals alike.
Powering the Edge ST Line is a proven 2.0L I4 EcoBoost engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, engineered for both efficiency and durability. Owners benefit from smooth acceleration and responsive handling, while the drivetrainâs robust construction is recognized for easily surpassing 150,000 miles with regular maintenance. Turbocharging provides confident power delivery without compromising the engineâs longevity or routine service costs.
Safety contributes directly to long-term value in the Edge, which includes advanced features like ABS brakes, electronic stability control, dual front and side impact airbags, and Fordâs SYNC 4 911 Assist emergency communication system. Auto high-beam headlights and a full suite of airbags help protect occupants and preserve the vehicleâs value by reducing the risk of costly accident-related repairs.
The ST Line trim elevates the experience with amenities such as a panoramic Vista Roof, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 12-speaker premium audio system. Functional enhancements like remote keyless entry, power driver and passenger seats, power liftgate, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls improve daily usability. The interiorâs ActiveX seating material is both comfortable and designed for long-term wear resistance.
Compared to segment rivals like the Chevrolet Blazer and Nissan Murano, the Edge offers a lower projected cost of ownership due to its durable EcoBoost powertrain and historically strong resale values. In addition, Fordâs robust parts supply and widespread service network mean maintenance costs remain predictable, while depreciation trends for the Edge typically outperform several competitors in the midsize SUV class.
Routine maintenance for the Edge generally includes oil changes every 7,500 to 10,000 miles, with basic service intervals clearly outlined in the ownerâs manual. Real-world drivers report combined fuel economy around 23-28 MPG, with the EcoBoost engine balancing city and highway efficiency. Fordâs warranty covers 3 years/36,000 miles bumper-to-bumper and 5 years/60,000 miles on the powertrain, supporting long-term reliability and ownership confidence.

Best Auto in My 64 Years of Owning cars

I love my edge! I bought this car in the end of 2018 and have owed it for over 6 years. NO repairs needed. I am so happy not to have had it tied up for repairs as I am a REALTOR and drive part of every day. The only thing I have had done have been service. Keeping up with oil changes is so necessary. Oh, and I did replace the tires once. - 5.0

Just sold it for $15500. Sure glad I don’t have to depend on KBB, NADA, etc. Every body needs to go to www.shoeboxbooksandpublishing.com and buy this book “Buying A New ( or Used) Car, 5 Things Dealers Don’t Want You To Know “!
