The hybrid powertrain, featuring a 2.5L I-4 engine and CVT, enables smooth and efficient driving. The EPA estimates 42 MPG in city conditions and 33 MPG on the highway, translating to lower fuel expenses over time. The front-wheel drive setup further reduces complexity and keeps ownership costs predictable, making this truck a rational choice for both commuting and light hauling tasks.
Safety features on this truck are designed to protect your investment and occupants over years of use. It includes ABS brakes, electronic stability control, dual front impact and side airbags, a rearview camera, and brake assist. The addition of traction control, a knee airbag, and a tire pressure monitoring system supports everyday confidence, helping to guard against unexpected events and long-term depreciation.
This XLT model offers a thoughtful set of features to enhance comfort and convenience. Notable equipment includes rear camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, automatic temperature control, remote keyless entry, fully automatic headlights, and a 400W inverter ideal for powering devices. Unique cloth front bucket seats finished in Navy Pier/Medium Slate add a modern touch to the interior.
Compared to other hybrid crew cab trucks like the Hyundai Santa Cruz Hybrid and Toyota Tacoma Hybrid, the Maverick XLT leads with higher city MPG and a straightforward design focused on utility. Its hybrid system and Fordâs reputation for lasting value make it a strong pick for buyers who want lower ownership costs and a track record of reliability, rather than just advanced technology or luxury add-ons.
Is this brand reliable over time? Fordâs history with hybrid technology and its reputation for durable trucks support long-term confidence. What warranty coverage was provided? The Maverick XLT came with a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty and an 8-year/100,000-mile hybrid battery warranty, both transferrable. What is the fuel economy in city and highway driving? EPA estimates are 42 MPG city and 33 MPG highway. What features support affordable ownership? Nearly 60k and still doing great.

This is my second one, first was Totalled. I’ve enjoyed this truck and its versatility is great. I need a bed occasionally and this is plenty for my needs. 2.0 Turbo is strong and mpg always above 28. Used to get 29+ before I changed tire size. But I knew that going in. Doing oil changes every 4k and transmission service every 30-35k. No issues with phone connection or onboard systems. One window switch was replaced under warranty. Some owners complaints are unfounded and nitpicking. - 5.0
Perfect compact truck.

It is perfect for everything I do, small appliance pick up, fishing, kayaking, towing small boats. And I get 41MPG. Plastic interior is a little cheap, but so was the truck. Hybrid system is extremely smooth. Lots of power, picks up fast coming from a Corolla. - 5.0
Nice little truck with great MPG

I drive a lot for my job and this truck has been great for its MPG. I switched to this from a Bronco sport and they handle very much the same. However I was only getting 25 MPG with that. Averaging 41 with the Mav!
