Those who prioritize safety, comfort, and tech in their daily commuting or family routines will find this model offers everything needed up front, minimizing the need to stretch for higher trims or costly upgrades.
Performance for the Escape Active is driven by the 1.5L EcoBoost engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD system, offering robust capability for its class. With EPA ratings of 26 mpg city and 32 mpg highway, this SUV is especially efficient, translating to fuel savings over time compared to larger competitors. The powertrain balances responsive acceleration with lower routine maintenance costs, making the SUV an economical choice for those who want both versatility and efficiency without overspending on fuel or upkeep.
Standard safety equipment is a standout value, as this SUV includes features that competitors often reserve for higher trims. Blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, auto high-beam headlights, and adaptive cruise control all come standard. This means buyers are spared the typical extra charge for essential active safety tech, which is especially valuable for families and drivers wanting modern protection without additional costs.
The Escape Activeâs standard features list is extensive, including heated seats, heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate, power driver seat, power liftgate, and advanced SYNC 4 infotainment with navigation. The Tech Pack #1 bundles key driver aids, while unique cloth bucket seats, SiriusXM radio, and intelligent adaptive cruise control further boost everyday comfort and convenience. Everything needed for a modern, connected drive is included right from the start, eliminating the need to step up in trim or pay for optional packages.
Against segment competitors like the Toyota RAV4 LE and Honda CR-V EX, the Escape Active delivers more standard comfort and driver-assist features at a similar price. While those competitors require buyers to add expensive packages for navigation, heated amenities, or advanced adaptive cruise, this SUV provides them without extra cost. The vehicleâs strong warranty coverage and robust standard tech make it an especially compelling choice for maximizing value without compromising quality.
Whatâs included as standard equipment? Buyers receive heated front seats, dual-zone climate, heated steering wheel, power liftgate, SYNC 4 with navigation, blind spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise controlâ"all standard. Is this SUV worth the price? The inclusion of advanced comfort and safety features as standard makes it a strong value.

Great SUV

Bought my car brand new February 2023. It’s a 2022 model sports package. Love the way it handles. rarely uses gas as I do mostly in town errands. Smaller than my previous Non plug-in Ford Escape, but actually like it that way. Backseat does fold down and plenty of rear cargo room. - 5.0

My Ford Escape is reliable and gets good mileage. I like driving this car because it drives like a car. I would buy an Escape again if only Ford did not stop production of this car. - 4.0

We have had our escape hybrid 5 years. I tell my friends you get free oil changes, tires and brake work for the life of the car. That's how much the savings in fuel amounts too! We drive 10,000 miles a year which add to the savings. The seats could be softer and ride smoother otherwise a great car!
