Notes from the dealer
Enthusiasts who prioritize dynamic feedback in their daily drive will find the Edge SEL particularly rewarding. The well-bolstered ActiveX heated bucket seats and a heated steering wheel welcome spirited driving even in colder climates, such as those experienced in Sw Mt Vernon, IA. The leather interior and power-adjustable front seats ensure you stay planted and comfortable, while intuitive controls and a driver-focused cockpit make every commute or weekend escape feel more like a destination than a routine.
Performance is front and center thanks to the EcoBoost 2.0L I4 GTDi DOHC Turbocharged VCT engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The throttle responds crisply, delivering smooth, immediate power for confident merging and overtaking. The transmission offers brisk, precise shifts and a manual mode that lets you select gears for maximum controlâ"perfect for enthusiastic sprints on winding roads. Suspension tuning strikes a balance between agility and composure, minimizing body roll and keeping the SUV settled over mid-corner bumps. Brake pedal feel is progressive, providing steady feedback and confidence, even when pressing a bit harder on your favorite backroads.
Safety is engineered to complement, not dull, the driving experience. Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control intervene seamlessly, supporting your chosen line without abrupt interference, so you remain the decision-maker in spirited scenarios. Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Keep Assist add a layer of reassurance without undermining your involvement, while Emergency Brake Assist and the rear camera system work transparently to boost driver confidence during aggressive maneuvers or quick stops. These active systems support precise drivingâ"never feeling intrusive during spirited sessions or everyday commutes.
Key features like the Convenience Package and Equipment Group 201A enhance both comfort and engagement. Dual-zone climate control and a 12-speaker SiriusXM with 360L sound system create an immersive atmosphere. Remote keyless entry and a power liftgate add daily usability, while the heated seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel foster a refined tactile connection. The split folding rear seat ensures practicality doesnât come at the expense of driving enjoyment, making the Edge SEL as versatile as it is fun.
Compared to sporty alternatives like the Chevrolet Blazer and Nissan Murano, the Edge SEL stands out for its direct steering feedback and the composed, athletic feel of its AWD chassis. Where others may prioritize soft ride comfort, this coupe preserves road communication and a sense of control that rewards skilled drivers. The Edgeâs turbocharged engine and 8-speed transmission deliver more immediate response than many rivals, making it the clear choice for those who value real engagement over isolated cruising.
Buyers often ask if the Edge SEL is genuinely fun to drive, and the answer is an emphatic yesâ"its engaging steering and balanced suspension shine on both twisty roads and daily routes. The 8-speed automatic impresses in sport mode, delivering quick, intelligent shifts and holding gears when needed.

Best Auto in My 64 Years of Owning cars

I love my edge! I bought this car in the end of 2018 and have owed it for over 6 years. NO repairs needed. I am so happy not to have had it tied up for repairs as I am a REALTOR and drive part of every day. The only thing I have had done have been service. Keeping up with oil changes is so necessary. Oh, and I did replace the tires once. - 5.0

Just sold it for $15500. Sure glad I don’t have to depend on KBB, NADA, etc. Every body needs to go to www.shoeboxbooksandpublishing.com and buy this book “Buying A New ( or Used) Car, 5 Things Dealers Don’t Want You To Know “!
