Notes from the dealer
Drivers who crave a spirited commute and appreciate a vehicle that amplifies every journey will find the Passport Elite compelling. Its robust V6 powertrain, standard all-wheel drive, and four-wheel independent suspension are engineered for those who notice the subtleties of body control and steering response. Heated leather seats, a premium sound system, and intuitive technology ensure comfort never overshadows the thrill of the drive.
Performance in this SUV centers on its 3.5L V6 i-VTEC engine, delivering strong, linear acceleration and a satisfying engine note. The 9-speed automatic transmission shifts promptly, with manual modes offering direct control for more involved drivingâ"downshifts are brisk, and upshifts happen smoothly even under load. Steering is notably weighted, offering granular road feel and quick turn-in, while the chassis settles confidently through corners, balancing composure with just enough feedback to keep the experience lively. Braking is progressive and reassuring, with four-wheel discs and electronic aids that never dull the tactile connection. Suspension tuning is firm yet compliant, absorbing imperfections while maintaining poise, making the Passport enjoyable for both spirited stints and longer journeys.
Safety systems in the Passport Elite are engineered to complement, not override, the driving experience. Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control intervene subtly, stepping in only when limits approach, allowing for spirited cornering without intrusive cut-ins. The Collision Mitigation Braking System offers an added layer of confidence, supplementing driver input during sudden stops. Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Information provide gentle guidance without numbing the driving feel, ensuring the driver remains the central decision-maker even as technology enhances security.
Equipped with the Elite trim, the Passport features perforated leather-trimmed seats, a power moonroof that brightens the cabin, and heated/ventilated front seats for year-round comfort. The 540-watt premium audio system with ten speakers enriches every drive, while integrated navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto keep drivers seamlessly connected. Rain-sensing wipers and a heated steering wheel add to the sensory experience, and the hands-free power liftgate brings convenience without detracting from the driver-focused ethos. Every feature is designed to support an immersive, enjoyable journey.
Against rivals like the Ford Edge ST and Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Passport Elite emphasizes balanceâ"its chassis is tuned for engagement without sacrificing comfort, and its V6 delivers refined, linear power. Where others lean toward either outright sportiness or pure utility, this SUV strikes a rewarding middle ground, making every drive feel purposeful and enjoyable while maintaining Hondaâs reputation for reliability and long-term value.
Enthusiasts frequently ask if the Passport is genuinely fun to drive, and the answer is yesâ"steering feedback is direct, and the chassis communicates road conditions clearly. The 9-speed transmissionâs sport mode sharpens throttle and shift response for a more connected feel, while the suspension remains composed on twisty roads.

2025 Honda Passport EXL.
by C JfM on 4/1/2026 6:07:02 PM
Purchased this vehicle almost one year ago and it has for the most part been a very good buy. The vehicle has performed well and gets good gas mileage averaging 23.5 MPG. My only beef so far has been the infotainment center. I was never able to fully use it except make calls and receive text messages. The radio system worked but the mapping etc. never worked because I couldn't get my phone to pair up with the system as it is supposed to do. I finally after three 130 mile round trips to the dealer got it somewhat working by purchasing a heavier power cord from Walmart. The system had been completely replaced once. The service department seemed not have a clue about it. Finally one young man after much talk and debate tried his phones cord and it worked. It will still not hook up by bluetooth, and my research has revealed that this is a common problem. I think Hondas reputation as a first rate car company is a little overstated. These day and times problems such as this should have been corrected by the manufacturer. I purchased a new Nissan truck a couple months ago and the system worked flawless in it I have the feeling that they were well aware of this problem all along didn't want to admit it. If I hadn't got a little adamant about getting something done, I still wouldn't have been able to get the system partially working! This is not good service and I blame Honda for not caring enough to get the bugs worked out of this system. - 5.0
Great car except
by Hope for a solution on 12/9/2025 12:10:46 PM
I love this car. It has every possible option, drives great & is very comfortable & roomy. I wish the gas milage was a little better but my BIG issue with this model is where Honda put the indicator lights for the blind spot monitoring. It should be put back in the side mirrors. This is a big big mistake Honda!!! - 4.0
Awesome in all aspects except 1
by Lee R on 8/27/2025 2:26:52 PM
Love the car, space, function, and reliability. I love everything about this car except one aspect. There are manual shift controls on the steering wheel- it is far too easy to hit one of those buttons while youre driving. I have almost wrecked twice by accidentally hitting one at 75 mph. Im honestly surprised I didn't wreck or blow up the engine. I HATE this feature.
