2017 Toyota RAV4 LE

Notes from the dealer
Analytical buyers seeking maximum feature content and long-term reliability in a compact SUV will appreciate what the RAV4 LE provides for its price. Itâs ideal for those who scrutinize standard vs. optional equipment, as Toyota equips it with essentials like automatic high-beam headlights, keyless entry, and a responsive infotainment system. Its proven track record for durability and strong resale value further underscores its appeal to those who demand data-driven value.
Performance in the RAV4 LE balances efficiency and practicality, with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine producing reliable power through a 6-speed automatic transmission and AWD system. This setup ensures steady traction and consistent acceleration for daily driving. The engine is tuned for longevity and low maintenance costs, and its fuel efficiency compares favorably, often saving owners money over time versus turbocharged rivals that may require higher-octane fuel or more frequent servicing.
Safety value is a highlight, as Toyota made advanced safety features standard on this SUV, eliminating the need for costly upgrades. Lane departure alert, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking all come included. The SUVâs comprehensive airbag suite, electronic stability control, and anti-lock brakes contribute to peace of mind. These safety technologies are often bundled as expensive options on competitor models, but here, theyâre built-in.
Included features on the RAV4 LE transform daily usability. The Entune audio system, hands-free Bluetooth, rearview camera, automatic headlights, and split-folding rear seats all come standard. Toyota's thoughtful packaging means you don't pay extra for remote keyless entry or steering wheel audio controls. These conveniences make the model a smarter buy, as competitors frequently reserve such items for higher trims or optional packages.
Against rivals like the Honda CR-V LX and Ford Escape S, the RAV4 LE's value proposition is clear: Toyota includes advanced safety technologies and useful infotainment features as standard, while others charge more for equivalent content. Its reputation for reliability and low long-term costs further separates it from the competition, making this SUV a high-value choice among compact crossovers.
Standard equipment includes a rearview camera, Entune audio, lane departure alert, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. The RAV4 LE is widely considered worth its price due to these inclusions and Toyotaâs reliability. The LE trim strikes the best balance between cost and content, as higher trims add luxuries but less essential value. Many competitors charge extra for the safety tech already included here.

For an eleven year old vehicle it runs great. All options still work well. Both the interior and exterior have worn well. The engine runs smoothly but has been maintained as suggested with regular oil changes. Gets good gas mileage and uses regular gas. There is some road noise and rides a little rough over bumps. Overall it is a great vehicle! - 4.0
Too many bells and whistles for my taste
by Simple tastes on 1/13/2026 1:31:21 PM
The RAV4 is a great vehicle, but has this one has 5 things I don't care for: 1) the Hybrid mileage is not that much better than regular battery and it makes horrid noise when starting in cold weather, 2) the leather seats are hot & sweaty in summer and cold in winter, 3) the head-lights automatically flip to high beam, even when behind a car, so they shine in the driver's rearview mirror, 4) there is no CD player, and 5) the cruise slows down when I'm about to pass the vehicle ahead of me on interstate. I hope someone else likes this vehicle, because I do not.
