The combination of a sporty exterior presence and a thoughtfully crafted cabin makes it ideal for those who want executive features in an approachable SUV format. Details like a power driver seat, dual zone climate control, and heated front seats turn daily commutes or longer journeys through Iowaâs changing seasons into comfortable, relaxing experiences. The non-smoker, one-owner background adds peace of mind while enhancing the vehicleâs high-value appeal for discerning drivers.
Driving the Escape ST-Line is an exercise in refinement, thanks to its 1.5L EcoBoost engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD. Acceleration is smooth and responsive, with the powertrain delivering quiet, composed performance thatâs well-suited for both urban and highway travel. The SUVâs advanced suspension and four wheel independent setup work together to minimize noise, vibration, and harshness, providing a hushed cabin even on rougher roads. This sense of isolation and effortlessness is heightened by the automatic temperature control and speed-sensitive steering, which ensure each drive feels composed and reassuring.
Safety technology is seamlessly integrated into the Escape ST-Line, working quietly in the background to create a feeling of confidence and sophistication. Active systems like Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Speed Sign Recognition anticipate and react to changing traffic conditions with minimal driver intervention. The rear camera and rear parking sensors make maneuvering in tight spaces intuitive, while features such as Auto High Beam Headlights and Electronic Stability Control contribute to an overall sense of security. These systems operate almost invisibly, cultivating a premium, stress-free driving environment.
Premium features define the Escape ST-Line experience, from its panoramic Vista Roof that floods the cabin with natural light to the 12-speaker premium audio system that surrounds passengers with high-fidelity sound. The Cold Weather Package brings a heated steering wheel and heated front seatsâ"perfect for brisk mornings. Tech Pack #1 includes connected navigation and advanced driver assistance, making every journey smarter and more enjoyable. The power liftgate and remote keyless entry add layers of convenience, while dual zone climate control and sport contour bucket seats provide tailored comfort for all occupants.
In a segment crowded with options, the Escape ST-Line stands out against premium alternatives like the Mazda CX-5 and Honda CR-V for its balance of tactile quality, acoustic refinement, and executive-level features.
What premium materials are used in the interior? The Escape ST-Line features a blend of leather and vinyl/cloth sport contour bucket seats, with soft-touch surfaces throughout the cabin for a plush feel. How quiet is the cabin? Advanced sound insulation, four wheel independent suspension, and meticulous NVH controls keep the cabin exceptionally hushed, even at highway speeds.

Great performance highway/city/winters
by Ed S on 8/25/2026 4:16:53 PM
Got the '21 SEL Hybrid used, and it's felt like a steal. I was moving from the south to the northern midwest, and needed a car that could hold family of 4+gear, had good mileage, good handling and driving all seasons, and really preferred some creature comforts. 3 months after purchase, I had to take it on the big test of 3k+ mile trip into the Dakotas, ending in a winter storm the last 250 miles. It handled everything wonderfully, and in comfort. MPG dropped to the low-mid 30's when I was doing pure highway, jumped up to low 40's with combo city/highway. No idea what people are complaining about on engine straining/noise, this thing has handled everything from driving 80 along the highways to climbing a steep grade hill during a blizzard. No issues at all, the AWD is a great need for my winters, and it's more modern features work well. My assumption is those complaining of engine noise/issues have had poor maintenance. I've kept up with mine very diligently, and have nice tires in place to help with winters here. The interesting positive is my year/model came with a map nav and sync as standard. So it has mapping/updating/etc all built in. But I never use it as I still prefer my phone Android Auto setup. Biggest complaint is it feels like there's just not quite enough space in the back, even when dropping the seats. You can fit luggage/hardware/gear in there, but you'll need to be creative. I ended up getting the roof rack as a fall-back for bigger things. - 5.0

40 mpg city, 30+ mpg highway. Great acceleration and comfort. Can't be beat for it's low ticket price! - 5.0
Great SUV

Bought my car brand new February 2023. It’s a 2022 model sports package. Love the way it handles. rarely uses gas as I do mostly in town errands. Smaller than my previous Non plug-in Ford Escape, but actually like it that way. Backseat does fold down and plenty of rear cargo room.
