Notes from the dealer
Pragmatic buyers who prioritize dependable daily transportation and affordable upkeep find the Equinox LT especially appealing. With all-wheel drive for confidence in varying weather conditionsâ"particularly useful in Midwest climatesâ"the SUV offers a balance of capability and comfort that supports both local errands and longer road trips without excessive maintenance or service needs.
A proven 1.5L DOHC engine paired with a 6-speed automatic electronic transmission anchors the Equinox's reputation for longevity. Its powertrain is engineered for consistent performance well past 150,000 miles when properly maintained, making it ideal for those who plan to keep their vehicle for many years. The AWD system adds peace of mind in challenging driving conditions without significantly increasing routine maintenance complexity or frequency.
Safety investments on this SUV are designed to protect both passengers and your financial interests over time. Standard features such as ABS, electronic stability control, dual front and side impact airbags, and a comprehensive OnStar emergency communication system help reduce the risk of costly incidents. These active and passive systems work together to help ensure lower insurance claims and may contribute to favorable rates for careful owners.
Key features on the LT trim focus on comfort, convenience, and practical ownership savings. Heated driver and front passenger seats, a 2-way power lumbar control for the driver, and dual-zone automatic climate control enhance everyday usability. The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system with premium audio and connectivity options supports modern lifestyle needs, while the power liftgate and split folding rear seat simplify cargo management for shopping or road trips.
Comparing ownership costs in this segment, the Equinox LT holds an advantage over alternatives like the Ford Escape and Honda CR-V. Its blend of proven reliability, lower expected depreciation, and a reputation for manageable service requirements means less worry about expensive repairs as the miles add up. While competitors offer similar features, the Equinox provides added peace of mind through its established track record and thoughtful equipment.
Routine oil changes and basic service are typically required every 7,500 miles for the Equinox, depending on driving habits and environment. While official fuel economy figures are not listed here, the 1.5L engine is designed for balanced efficiency in both city and highway driving. Chevrolet's reputation for long-term reliability is well documented, and comprehensive warranty coverageâ"including powertrain protectionâ"helps control repair costs during the initial years of ownership.

Mercedes eater in a pinch.

I've the 2019 2.0 9 speed AWD Equinox Premier. Going on 8 years now and 37k miles. Not 1 problem. Knock on wood! Performance and reliability are 100%, add no fluids other than regular oil and filters at required intervals. Great mileage, have regular gas at 28 in town, and up to 40 on the highway. Rides and drives great with my Perelli tires. I'm used to a truck for space/comfort so I feel a little cramped but no biggie. These smaller vehicles ALL of them have the rear wheels so far back they sure keep the back end and rear glass dirty, that sucks, and is my only complaint. Even with mud flaps😏
