A 2.5L DOHC engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive powers the Traverse RS, delivering confident acceleration and stable handling whether merging onto highways or navigating crowded school pickup lines. EPA-estimated at 19 city and 24 highway MPG, it balances family-hauling capacity with fuel efficiency, ensuring that road trips and daily commutes are both effortless and economical. The powertrainâs smoothness is especially noticeable when the cabin is full.
Peace of mind comes from an extensive suite of active safety features in this SUV. Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring help maintain awareness and prevent unintentional lane changes, while Adaptive Cruise Control and a Reverse Sensing System add confidence in busy traffic and tight parking situations. The Bose Premium 10-Speaker Audio System and a 17.7-inch diagonal display with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration keep everyone entertained and connected. A panoramic moonroof and power liftgate enhance daily usability, while rain-sensing wipers and automatic high-beam headlights simplify driving in changing conditions.
In the crowded midsize SUV segment, the Traverse RS stands out for families by combining genuine three-row comfort and advanced safety tech. Competing models like the Ford Explorer and Honda Pilot offer similar space, but the Traverseâs ventilated front seats, heated second row, and intuitive infotainment give it an edge for busy households. With all-wheel drive and premium interior appointments, itâs a strong value for parents seeking reliability and flexibility.
Is the Traverse RS easy for car seats? Yesâ"the split-bench third row and accessible LATCH tethers make installation stress-free. Does it have warranty coverage? The original Chevrolet powertrain warranty covers 5 years or 60,000 miles for extra peace of mind. How does it handle winter? All-wheel drive, heated seats, and remote start help keep families comfortable and confident even in harsh conditions.

Mean looking SUV that looks more like a truck

Man, Chevrolet just hit it out of the park with this one. The redesigned 2024 Traverse looks like a truck. Bigger than any other mid-sized SUV, more space compared to all midsize SUVs, best looking mid sized SUV. Everything is grand and big. Very comfortable seats. Engine is 4-cyl with turbo and works adequately. Will make a sound when accelerated or pushed hard but not a deal breaker. The infotainment system/screen and tech is amazing. Rear view camera, park assist, 360 degree camera. Ambient lighting. Mind blown! My first American car after having 4 japanese cars (3 Mazdas and 1 Suzuki) and 1 German (BMW). I am amazed. Hopefully this wont break because I am hearing complaints about failed transmission from some Z71 AWD twin clutch vehicles. I get an average of about 22 in city and 28 on the highways. Wish there was a hybrid option but then I remembered Toyota Grand Highlander has a stop sale on their models. Honda pilot, Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade doesn't have as of writing this review in Sep 2024. Mazda CX-90 was my other choice but it has no space in the 3rd row and behind the 3rd row. This traverse a decent sized adult can easily fit in the 3rd row. The steering wheel is so thick and suspension very soft. Comfortable for families who love some flare!
