Notes from the dealer
Value-focused shoppers who scrutinize spec sheets will recognize this SUV as a smart money decision, especially for families and professionals who demand more from their daily driver. The non-smoker, one-owner history adds extra trust and peace of mind, important for buyers in regions with winter conditions like Sw Mt Vernon, IA, where all-wheel drive and heated seats translate to real-world daily comfort and security. This Equinox excels for those who want advanced technology and practical luxury without added cost complexity.
Performance is balanced and efficient thanks to its 1.5L DOHC engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering smooth, responsive power for city driving and highway cruising. At this price point, the Equinox offers all-wheel drive capability for improved traction and confidence year-round, a feature often reserved for higher trims elsewhere. Fuel efficiency is enhanced by the small-displacement turbo engine and 8-speed transmission, helping owners save at the pump and on long-term maintenance, making it a cost-effective choice among compact SUVs.
Safety value is a highlight, as this SUV comes standard with Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise, Reverse Sensing, 360 Degree Camera, and ABS. Unlike competitors who charge extra for active safety systems, these technologies are built-in here, giving buyers comprehensive protection without additional spend. The suite includes automatic high-beam headlights and OnStar emergency communication, providing layers of safety that would be premium add-ons elsewhere.
The RS trim with Preferred Equipment Group 2RS, Convenience Package III, and Safety & Technology Package brings real-world benefits such as a power liftgate for easy loading, heated second-row seats for rear passenger comfort, and a premium audio system with 12 speakers and SiriusXM. The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 with 11.3" color display and navigation streamlines connectivity and route planning. Rain sensing wipers and a heated steering wheel further enhance the everyday driving experience, all included without requiring extra option boxes.
Against direct competitors like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, the Equinox RS stands out by offering features like cooled front seats, 360-degree camera, and navigation as standard, while rivals typically reserve these for upper trims or costly packages. This approach maximizes total value, ensuring buyers spend less time and money trying to match comfort and safety features elsewhere, while enjoying high resale value and proven reliability that the Equinox nameplate is known for.

Great car for the value.

I had a Toyota SUV before, but it was totaled. The handling for it was nice, but the Equinox 26 is far more comfortable. I'm 6'2", and there's plenty of room for me to get around in. I did a lot of shopping around and the options that came with it couldn't be beaten for the price. I've had it a little less than a year, but I've only driven it around 2500 miles. I got the CVT transmission and it has been extremely smooth in shifting gears due to it's design. The engine is small, which likely contributes to the bad gas mileage some people report getting. I live in a rural area and get about 32 mpg on average with me going light on the gas pedal. When I'm on the interstate, I get around 35 mpg, up to my max of almost 38 mpg. I use the adaptive cruise control as much as possible and not speeding up hard or braking much. The engine has a nice little hum to it and isn't loud. It gets up to speed fast enough, when I need it. I can even spin the tires a bit, if I try to take off too fast. I didn't have any problems with the sound system, but I went in and fiddled with all the settings in the very beginning. This might help some people out who are having sound issues. The only problem I've had with mine was a very small oil leak, which is likely due to me not getting the oil changed soon enough. I believe they said the oil plug gasket was being replaced just in case, and it hasn't leaked since. For now, I'd still get the car again. Here's to hoping I don't get some of the issues others have. - 5.0
Best Equinox yet

This is our fifth Equinox and Chevy to us has outdone themselves.. We traded in a 2023 Equinox, hated the transmission so we went with a AWD to get the 8 speed transmission.. It can be a challenge to drive while being fun with all the safety features and LED dash and lighting, especially the adaptive cruise for one.. Would like to see more color in the interiors.. - 5.0
