The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox RS delivers a standout value proposition by including a robust suite of features as standard, outpacing many segment competitors that charge extra for similar equipment.

Detail-oriented buyers who scrutinize equipment lists and compare trims will find the Equinox RS particularly appealing. Standard features like the Convenience Package III, Safety & Technology Package, and Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system are bundled without requiring higher trim upcharges, providing immediate access to premium comfort, connectivity, and safety. For those commuting or navigating the varied weather of Iowa, the inclusion of AWD, heated steering wheel, and remote keyless entry translates to year-round usability and daily efficiency, ensuring the SUV meets both practical and financial expectations.

In terms of performance value, the Equinox RS utilizes a 1.5L DOHC engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD. This combination offers a strong power-to-price ratio, delivering smooth acceleration and capable handling in urban and highway settings. The EPA-estimated 24 city and 29 highway MPG helps minimize fuel costs over the ownership period, making the SUV a compelling choice for those who measure value not just in features but also in long-term operating efficiency. Maintenance is further simplified by the robust, proven drivetrain, reducing the likelihood of unexpected expenses.

Safety value is front and center, with advanced features such as ABS brakes, electronic stability control, dual front and side impact airbags, and a rear camera mirror washer included as standard. Unlike competitors that bundle similar equipment into optional packages, the Equinox RS ensures buyers benefit from comprehensive safety technology without paying a premium. Rain-sensing wipers and automatic high-beam headlights further enhance visibility in adverse weather, offering peace of mind at no additional cost and reinforcing the SUV's cost-effective approach to occupant protection.

Package content is where the Equinox RS underscores its value edge. The Convenience Package III brings power driver seat adjustment, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a power liftgate, streamlining daily routines with premium touches. The Safety & Technology Package adds navigation, rear camera mirror washer, and advanced infotainment via an 11.3-inch color LCD display, all standard. Heated front seats and steering wheel, premium synthetic upholstery with red accents, and a panoramic sliding sunroof create an upscale experience, sidestepping the need for expensive upgrades.

When compared to the Toyota RAV4 XLE and Honda CR-V EX, the Equinox RS stands out by including features like navigation, a panoramic sunroof, and a heated steering wheel as standardâ€"while competitors frequently reserve these for higher trims or charge extra.

What standard equipment is included? The Equinox RS features AWD, navigation, heated front seats, power liftgate, and a premium infotainment system as standard. Is this SUV worth the price? Yes; its bundled packages and robust feature set exceed what many rivals offer at this trim level. Which trim offers the best value? The RS trim uniquely combines performance, comfort, and technology without requiring significant add-ons.

The AWD RS is a beautiful SUV inside and out. It is modern and has the technology that everyone needs at a great price. The ride quality is one of the best of any cars in the field. The seats are comfortable and adjusted for every rider. Is the engine the fastest no, but is all the vast majority of people need.

      Great car for the value.

I had a Toyota SUV before, but it was totaled. The handling for it was nice, but the Equinox 26 is far more comfortable. I'm 6'2", and there's plenty of room for me to get around in. I did a lot of shopping around and the options that came with it couldn't be beaten for the price. I've had it a little less than a year, but I've only driven it around 2500 miles. I got the CVT transmission and it has been extremely smooth in shifting gears due to it's design. The engine is small, which likely contributes to the bad gas mileage some people report getting. I live in a rural area and get about 32 mpg on average with me going light on the gas pedal. When I'm on the interstate, I get around 35 mpg, up to my max of almost 38 mpg. I use the adaptive cruise control as much as possible and not speeding up hard or braking much. The engine has a nice little hum to it and isn't loud. It gets up to speed fast enough, when I need it. I can even spin the tires a bit, if I try to take off too fast. I didn't have any problems with the sound system, but I went in and fiddled with all the settings in the very beginning. This might help some people out who are having sound issues. The only problem I've had with mine was a very small oil leak, which is likely due to me not getting the oil changed soon enough. I believe they said the oil plug gasket was being replaced just in case, and it hasn't leaked since. For now, I'd still get the car again. Here's to hoping I don't get some of the issues others have.
