Notes from the dealer
Enthusiasts who appreciate nuanced driving dynamics will find this SUV aligns with their priorities. The combination of all-wheel drive and a 9-speed automatic transmission rewards careful throttle input, while the heated steering wheel and Jet Black interior with red accents create an inviting, purposeful cockpit. In regions like eastern Iowa where unpredictable weather and open highways are a daily reality, the TrailBlazer RS's confident chassis and available comfort features make the daily commute something to look forward to, not just endure.
The turbocharged 1.3L I3 engine paired with the 9-speed automatic transmission gives the TrailBlazer RS brisk off-the-line response and seamless acceleration. The transmissionâs shifts are both quick and refined, with gear changes that feel unobtrusive whether easing through city traffic or merging onto the highway. The all-wheel drive system communicates security in changing road conditions, maintaining traction and composure even when the pavement turns slick. Suspension tuning strikes an ideal balance: it absorbs sharp impacts while transmitting enough road texture to keep the driver informed and engaged. Braking is progressive and confidence-inspiring, with a pedal feel thatâs easy to modulate during spirited or everyday driving.
Safety systems in the TrailBlazer RS are engineered to enhance rather than dilute the driving experience. Electronic Stability Control actively supports driver intent, intervening smoothly when the limits are approached rather than cutting power abruptly. The Driver Confidence Package adds features like an exterior parking camera and traction control, which work together to preserve the model's natural agility. Adaptive cruise control complements the composed chassis, making extended highway drives less fatiguing while still allowing the driver to set the pace. Active safety equipment is integrated seamlessly, providing reassurance without numbing the connection to the road.
Key features in this RS trim elevate both enjoyment and utility. The Adaptive Cruise and Sound Package enhances long trips with immersive audio and adaptive cruise control, while the Convenience Package adds practical touches like an 8-way power driver seat and heated front seats for year-round comfort. The Dual-Pane Panoramic Power Sunroof brings an airy ambiance to the Jet Black cabin, and the Evotex seat trim delivers a sporty, durable feel underhand. Everyday usability is amplified by split folding rear seats and a flat-folding front passenger seatback, making space for gear or spontaneous adventures.
Against rivals like the Mazda CX-30 and Hyundai Kona, the TrailBlazer RS stands out for its precise steering feedback and ride composure.
How composed does it feel on the highway? The TrailBlazer RS maintains a stable, quiet demeanor at speed, with minimal wind or road noise creeping into the cabin. Is the ride comfortable on long drives? Heated seats, adaptive cruise control, and supportive seat adjustments make extended journeys relaxing.

Actually Better Than Subaru
by Actual OWNER on 6/10/2026 2:14:57 AM
I owned a Trax and now a 2026 Trailblazer LT with lots of packages. I find this less expensive than the RS and Activ yet has the features! Rides great on bumpy country roads near my house! FWD Turbo 3 is surprisingly fast and metal chain ⛓️💥⛓️ cvt is better than the shifts ...smoother... I added a Kicker under seat subwoofer and new kicker speakers..now Trailblazer is perfect. - 4.0
Great Budget Car
by Jason on 4/13/2026 1:58:40 PM
It was very easy to average 35-37 mpg on the highway if you drive conservatively. The interior was mediocre and felt rather cheap. Cabin noise could use some improvement as well. The biggest issue for me was the brakes squeaking so loudly. I took my car to Chevrolet many times, and they said the brakes are perfectly fine. If you are in search of a budget vehicle and have a small family, this vehicle would be perfect. Otherwise, the car was smooth and nice to drive. - 5.0
Impressive little SUV
by ScottyB on 2/25/2026 7:09:36 PM
Replaced my 2019 Camaro with a 2021 Trailblazer LT. Smaller 1.3 engine, but the turbo moves it along briskly. Handling is slow, but the ride is decent. Interior is quiet and well laid out. Similar layout as the Camaro so transition was easy. Decent infotainment system and wireless connection for android or apple. Heated seats are welcome as well as the auto setting on the HVAC. Power seats and even lumbar are a nice feature. So far I am pleased with the vehicle, I had no issues with my Camaro other than I racked up a lot of miles and needed a lower mileage daily driver. Chevy was my first choice based on prior experience.
