Notes from the dealer
Analytical buyers who prioritize getting the most features for their money will appreciate the Traverse Z71's comprehensive standard offerings. The inclusion of the Enhanced Driving Package, HD Surround Vision, and a power liftgate caters to families and drivers in regions with variable weather like Eastern Iowa, where all-wheel drive and heated amenities prove valuable in daily routines. With three rows of seating, advanced connectivity, and ample comfort features standard, this SUV appeals to those who research and compare every detail before making a decision.
Performance in the Traverse Z71 is anchored by a 2.5L DOHC engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, providing a balanced blend of power and efficiency thatâs competitive within its class. The all-wheel drive system comes standard, which often costs extra on rival models. Maintenance costs are kept in check with proven powertrain reliability, and the automatic transmission is tuned for smooth shifts and responsive acceleration. The value proposition is further enhanced by fuel-saving technology and a drivetrain that minimizes long-term expenses for owners who prioritize total cost of ownership.
Safety value is a highlight, as the SUV comes standard with advanced equipment such as ABS brakes, electronic stability control, Auto High-beam Headlights, Rear Pedestrian Alert, HD Surround Vision, Driver Attention Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition. These features, typically requiring upgrades in other midsize SUVs, are included here, ensuring comprehensive protection without added cost. The standard Rear Camera Mirror and Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist further reinforce that safety is built in, not a costly add-on.
Package benefits are immediately felt in everyday use. The Preferred Equipment Group 2Z7, Enhanced Driving Package, and Bose Premium 12-Speaker Audio System offer luxury-level comfort and connectivity. Super Cruise provides hands-free driving capability for compatible roads, while the navigation system and digital display simplify trip planning. Power Dual Glass Panoramic Sliding Sunroof and heated steering wheel make family trips and commutes more pleasant. All of these features are standard, providing tangible daily savings over competitors who charge extra for similar content.
Compared to the Ford Explorer and Honda Pilot, the Traverse Z71 delivers more standard technology and safety features at a similar price. While both competitors require buyers to step up to higher trims or purchase add-on packages for hands-free driving, upgraded audio, or panoramic sunroof, this SUV includes them as standard. The Traverse Z71's approach means less time spent option-hunting and more value captured up front, all while maintaining the proven durability and resale strength associated with the Chevrolet name.
Shoppers frequently ask whatâs included as standard; here, Super Cruise, HD Surround Vision, navigation, heated front seats, and a Bose audio system are all built in. Is it worth the price? For buyers focused on maximizing feature-to-dollar ratio, the answer is yes. The Z71 trim is the value sweet spot, balancing premium amenities with essential safety and convenience.

Mean looking SUV that looks more like a truck
by Anonymous Reviewer on 10/24/2024 7:33:54 PM
Man, Chevrolet just hit it out of the park with this one. The redesigned 2024 Traverse looks like a truck. Bigger than any other mid-sized SUV, more space compared to all midsize SUVs, best looking mid sized SUV. Everything is grand and big. Very comfortable seats. Engine is 4-cyl with turbo and works adequately. Will make a sound when accelerated or pushed hard but not a deal breaker. The infotainment system/screen and tech is amazing. Rear view camera, park assist, 360 degree camera. Ambient lighting. Mind blown! My first American car after having 4 japanese cars (3 Mazdas and 1 Suzuki) and 1 German (BMW). I am amazed. Hopefully this wont break because I am hearing complaints about failed transmission from some Z71 AWD twin clutch vehicles. I get an average of about 22 in city and 28 on the highways. Wish there was a hybrid option but then I remembered Toyota Grand Highlander has a stop sale on their models. Honda pilot, Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade doesn't have as of writing this review in Sep 2024. Mazda CX-90 was my other choice but it has no space in the 3rd row and behind the 3rd row. This traverse a decent sized adult can easily fit in the 3rd row. The steering wheel is so thick and suspension very soft. Comfortable for families who love some flare!
