Notes from the dealer
Practical, analytical buyers who scrutinize spec sheets and want the most features for their dollar will appreciate this SUV's comprehensive approach to standard equipment. The Traverse LT 2LT is well-suited to families and commuters in areas like Sw Mt Vernon, IA, where all-wheel drive and heated seats deliver year-round comfort and confidence. With three rows of seating and a split-bench third row, it accommodates growing families or those who need flexible cargo space. The non-smoker ownership history is an added reassurance for those who prioritize interior freshness and long-term cabin quality.
Performance-wise, the Traverse delivers solid capability for its price, powered by a 2.5L DOHC engine paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard AWD system is a value differentiator, offering peace of mind in adverse weather without requiring an expensive upgrade. With EPA ratings of 19 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, it balances power and fuel efficiency, keeping ongoing costs competitive. The 2.5L engineâs design emphasizes reliability and lower maintenance costs, so buyers benefit from fewer surprises and more predictable ownership expenses than turbocharged alternatives that may require premium fuel or more frequent servicing.
When it comes to safety, the Traverse LT 2LT provides significant value by including advanced driver aids as standard equipment. Features like Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and a rear camera system are all included without the need for extra-cost packages. Many rivals only offer these technologies on higher trims or as part of pricey add-ons, but here, theyâre built-in. Additional standard safety featuresâ"such as ABS brakes, electronic stability control, and a child-seat-sensing airbag systemâ"provide peace of mind for families without hidden costs.
This SUVâs value is further enhanced by its robust list of comfort and convenience features. The Preferred Equipment Group 2LT brings a navigation system, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheelâ"all standard. The premium cloth seat trim, power driver seat adjustment, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration ensure a pleasant driving experience. A 12-speaker audio system and rear air conditioning support both entertainment and comfort for all passengers. The power liftgate streamlines loading and unloading, a daily convenience thatâs often a costly option elsewhere.
Against competitors like the Honda Pilot EX-L and Ford Explorer XLT, the Traverse LT 2LT shines by bundling sought-after features at a lower relative cost.
Which features are standard on the Traverse LT 2LT? Navigation, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, and a power liftgate all come standard, eliminating the need for costly upgrades. Is this SUV worth the price? Given its extensive standard equipment and robust safety tech, it represents a strong value in the midsize SUV class.

Mean looking SUV that looks more like a truck

Man, Chevrolet just hit it out of the park with this one. The redesigned 2024 Traverse looks like a truck. Bigger than any other mid-sized SUV, more space compared to all midsize SUVs, best looking mid sized SUV. Everything is grand and big. Very comfortable seats. Engine is 4-cyl with turbo and works adequately. Will make a sound when accelerated or pushed hard but not a deal breaker. The infotainment system/screen and tech is amazing. Rear view camera, park assist, 360 degree camera. Ambient lighting. Mind blown! My first American car after having 4 japanese cars (3 Mazdas and 1 Suzuki) and 1 German (BMW). I am amazed. Hopefully this wont break because I am hearing complaints about failed transmission from some Z71 AWD twin clutch vehicles. I get an average of about 22 in city and 28 on the highways. Wish there was a hybrid option but then I remembered Toyota Grand Highlander has a stop sale on their models. Honda pilot, Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade doesn't have as of writing this review in Sep 2024. Mazda CX-90 was my other choice but it has no space in the 3rd row and behind the 3rd row. This traverse a decent sized adult can easily fit in the 3rd row. The steering wheel is so thick and suspension very soft. Comfortable for families who love some flare!
