Notes from the dealer
Drivers who crave engagement and feedback from their vehicle will find the Traverse a fitting companion. Its direct steering and responsive throttle appeal to those who enjoy feeling connected to the road, whether navigating city streets or open highways. Features like heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control add comfort for enthusiasts who appreciate both performance and daily usability. The Traverse suits buyers who test-drive for feel and seek an SUV thatâs as enjoyable as it is practical.
On the road, the Traverseâs 2.5L DOHC engine responds crisply, delivering smooth, linear acceleration matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission. In manual mode, shift points are quick and deliberate, providing a more hands-on driving experience. Steering is weighted to offer immediate feedback, communicating subtle changes in road texture while remaining stable at speed. The suspension strikes a balance between control and comfort, settling confidently through corners and providing sure-footed handling.
Active safety systems are seamlessly integrated to enhance driving confidence without dulling the experience. Electronic stability control and traction control intervene subtly, supporting spirited cornering while allowing drivers to explore the SUV's dynamic limits. Lane keep assist and lane departure warning provide gentle guidance, complementing your inputs rather than overriding them. Emergency braking and blind spot monitoring increase peace of mind, especially on twisty roads or during sudden maneuvers.
The Traverse LT 2LT brings together purposeful features to elevate both driving and daily life. Navigation and a 17.7-inch diagonal display keep you oriented and connected, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto offer seamless media access. Premium cloth seating and an eight-way power driver seat ensure comfort during extended drives. The power liftgate and spacious third-row seating enhance utility, while heated front seats and a heated steering wheel reward you on chilly mornings.
Compared to sporty rivals like the Mazda CX-9 and Ford Explorer, the Traverse stands out for its communicative steering and balanced chassis tuning. While competitors may offer similar powertrains, this SUV delivers a more engaging driving experience, with road feel and suspension calibration aimed at those who value connection over isolation. Its blend of daily comfort and responsive handling gives it a distinctive edge among midsize crossovers.
Enthusiasts often ask if the Traverse is genuinely fun to driveâ"it is, with crisp throttle response and a transmission that shines in manual mode. Steering feels direct, neither too light nor artificially heavy, offering confidence on winding roads. The all-wheel drive system maintains traction even during spirited driving.

Mean looking SUV that looks more like a truck
by Anonymous Reviewer on 10/24/2024 7:33:54 PM
Man, Chevrolet just hit it out of the park with this one. The redesigned 2024 Traverse looks like a truck. Bigger than any other mid-sized SUV, more space compared to all midsize SUVs, best looking mid sized SUV. Everything is grand and big. Very comfortable seats. Engine is 4-cyl with turbo and works adequately. Will make a sound when accelerated or pushed hard but not a deal breaker. The infotainment system/screen and tech is amazing. Rear view camera, park assist, 360 degree camera. Ambient lighting. Mind blown! My first American car after having 4 japanese cars (3 Mazdas and 1 Suzuki) and 1 German (BMW). I am amazed. Hopefully this wont break because I am hearing complaints about failed transmission from some Z71 AWD twin clutch vehicles. I get an average of about 22 in city and 28 on the highways. Wish there was a hybrid option but then I remembered Toyota Grand Highlander has a stop sale on their models. Honda pilot, Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade doesn't have as of writing this review in Sep 2024. Mazda CX-90 was my other choice but it has no space in the 3rd row and behind the 3rd row. This traverse a decent sized adult can easily fit in the 3rd row. The steering wheel is so thick and suspension very soft. Comfortable for families who love some flare!
