Notes from the dealer
Analytical buyers who compare spec sheets will appreciate how the Fusion SE balances desirable standard features and real-world usability. In the Sw Mt Vernon, IA area, it stands out as a practical sedan for daily commuting, offering comfort and useful technology like remote keyless entry and a trip computer. Ebony cloth front bucket seats and a quiet, well-designed cabin make long drives or traffic delays less taxing, while power accessories and steering wheel audio controls cater to those who prioritize convenience and ease of use in their routine.
Performance for the price is a key strength of this sedan. The 2.5L iVCT engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive setup delivers reliable power for daily driving, combining smooth acceleration with responsive handling. The EPA ratings of 21 city and 32 highway MPG translate into real savings at the pump, particularly for those with longer commutes. Maintenance costs remain competitive, as the powertrain design favors proven, serviceable components, offering efficiency and durability without the need for premium fuel or specialty service.
Safety value is immediately evident with the Fusion SE, as it includes a suite of standard features that some rivals offer only as options. The vehicle comes equipped with a rearview camera, four-wheel disc brakes, ABS, traction control, electronic stability control, and multiple airbags including side-impact and knee airbags. Emergency communication via 911 Assist and a tire pressure monitoring system are also standard, providing peace of mind without requiring expensive upgrade packages. These features contribute to a well-rounded safety profile at no extra cost.
Feature highlights on this sedan include the Fusion SE Technology Package, which brings enhanced audio with 12 speakers, SiriusXM radio, and advanced connectivity options. Fully automatic headlights, speed-sensing wipers, and a split folding rear seat add practical benefits, while dual-zone air conditioning and power-adjustable front seats boost comfort. Exterior details such as body-color bumpers and power door mirrors enhance appearance and usability. The included Equipment Group 200A ensures that buyers receive a comprehensive equipment bundle as standard.
When comparing value, the Fusion SE stands out against competitors like the Honda Accord LX and Toyota Camry LE, both of which often charge extra for features such as power passenger seats or advanced infotainment.
What features come standard? The Fusion SE provides SiriusXM radio, a rearview camera, dual-zone air conditioning, power driver and passenger seats, and advanced safety systems as standard. Is this sedan worth the price? Given its extensive feature set and strong fuel efficiency, it represents high value in its class. Which trim level offers the best value? The SE trim strikes a balance between affordability and desirable equipment.
