2019 Ford Expedition XLT
- Used
Notes from the dealer
Shoppers cross-shopping the Tahoe, Sequoia, and other large SUVs will appreciate how this Expedition XLT fits families needing maximum space, versatility, and everyday usability. With locally owned provenance and a non-smoker interior, it is ideal for families in regions like Eastern Iowa who value a clean, well-cared-for vehicle that can handle unpredictable weather and road conditions. The power-folding third-row seats allow effortless transitions from passenger to cargo duty, making it perfect for school runs, weekend road trips, or hauling gear to outdoor adventures.
While some competitors rely on naturally aspirated V8s, this SUVâs EcoBoost 3.5L V6 GTDi DOHC 24V Twin Turbocharged engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission delivers brisk acceleration and refined power delivery. The standard 4WD system provides confident traction in inclement weather or on rough terrain, giving it an edge when the road gets challenging. Where rivals might trade fuel efficiency for performance, the Expedition achieves a balanced EPA rating of 17 city and 22 highway MPG, offering both power and better efficiency for its class.
Safety is a clear differentiator for the Expedition, which includes standard Blind Spot Monitoring, Reverse Sensing, and a full suite of airbags. Features like the rear camera and SYNC 3 911 Assist emergency communication system are included at no extra cost, whereas competitors may offer them only as part of expensive packages. The SUVâs comprehensive electronic stability control and brake assist further enhance its on-road security, ensuring peace of mind for drivers and passengers alike.
This model comes equipped with high-end amenities often reserved for luxury trims on rival SUVs. Highlights include leather interior, dual zone climate control, heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, and a panoramic Vista Roof. The Connectivity Package with AppLink/Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration ensures drivers stay connected and entertained. Voice-activated navigation, power driver seat, and rear air conditioning enhance comfort and usability for all three rows.
When compared to the Chevrolet Tahoe and Toyota Sequoia, the Expedition XLT offers a more advanced powertrain, a roomier interior with flexible seating configurations, and a longer list of standard tech features. While the Tahoe is known for its traditional V8 power, it lacks the turbocharged efficiency and modern infotainment system of the Expedition. The Sequoia, while durable, does not match the Fordâs active safety suite or luxurious cabin appointments, underlining this modelâs value advantage.
Why choose the Expedition over its rivals? It provides a unique combination of robust 4WD capability, modern turbocharged performance, and family-friendly technology. What does it offer that others don't? Features like a panoramic Vista Roof and power-folding third row come standard here, while costing extra or remaining unavailable elsewhere.
