Notes from the dealer
Analytical shoppers who scrutinize every feature and compare across brands will appreciate what the Explorer XLT offers as standard. With navigation, heated front and second-row seats, adaptive cruise control, and SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto all included, the SUV appeals to buyers who demand value from every dollar spent. Its three-row flexibility and dual-zone climate control make it an easy choice for those who want proven comfort and advanced connectivity.
Performance for the Explorer XLT is impressive when viewed through the value lens. Its 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission deliver responsive acceleration and efficiency, providing a strong power-to-price ratio. Four-wheel drive comes standard here, while competitors often charge extra. Fuel savings are bolstered by the efficient turbocharged engine, and the Fordâs maintenance schedule is designed to keep long-term operating costs in check, maximizing ownership value.
Safety value is a highlight, with Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ including blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and a rearview camera all as standardâ"features that often require pricy upgrades elsewhere. The SUV also boasts emergency communication via SYNC 3 911 Assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and full airbag coverage. These systems help deliver peace of mind without added expense.
Feature content is robust thanks to Equipment Group 202A and the Comfort Package, which combine to offer leather seating, heated steering wheel, power liftgate, second-row bucket seats, and advanced climate control. The standard SYNC 3 infotainment system with voice navigation and 12 speakers enhances daily convenience, while the Class III Trailer Tow package expands versatility. These features frequently cost extra on competing models, but are included here.
In the midsize SUV segment, the Explorer XLTâs value is clear when compared to the Honda Pilot EX-L and Toyota Highlander XLE. While both rivals offer comfort, they often require stepping up to higher trims or adding packages for features like navigation, heated second-row seats, or advanced safety tech. The Explorer provides these items standard, maximizing value without compromise.
Frequently asked questions center on included features and value. Standard equipment covers heated leather seats, advanced safety tech, navigation, and a power liftgate. The XLT trim is widely regarded as the best value, bundling high-demand features at a reasonable price. Unlike some competitors, items like adaptive cruise control and second-row heated seats are included here, not optional. The Explorer is worth the price for buyers maximizing feature count per dollar.

Served our family well!
by Beth on 2/19/2026 11:46:55 PM
Trading my car in next week, I am gonna miss my Explorer. It’s been a good family car. Draw backs: the screen is glitchy at times. Some electronics malfunctioned and I won’t lie, they can be costly to fix. Comfortable, spacious. I never had any mechanical problems with the car, but I did take very good care of it at well. I maintained all recommended services and any replacements were all genuine Ford parts. I hope whoever buys our car, loves it as much as we did. - 5.0
2025 Ford Explorer Active, RWD

Hello everyone! I had this car for about 3 months and I absolutely love it! I love how reliable it is and how quick it can get when it’s needed. The 3rd row is tight, it is a mid-size SUV after all. If you have a bigger family, I would suggest getting a full size SUV. Unfortunately, there are a few issues that I’ve noticed. 1. Sometimes, the car stalls/jerks a little bit when accelerating. It doesn’t happen much. 2. On the infotainment screen, I can’t download or update any apps. It says pending and it keeps spinning over and over again. (it is a computer after all) I have an appointment soon to get these issues fixed but other than that, it’s been amazing. I am so very grateful for this car. It is my first real car I’ve ever had and I’m so lucky to have a choice for once for something I actually want. - 4.0
