Notes from the dealer
This SUV suits drivers navigating changing Midwest weather, hauling gear, or managing family routines. With seating for up to seven, including third-row bench seats and ActiveX Captain's Chairs, it accommodates larger households or carpools. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel enhance comfort in colder climates. The power liftgate and split-folding rear seats simplify loading for grocery runs or vacations, while the SYNC 3 infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto keeps everyone connected.
Performance is centered on the 2.3L EcoBoost I-4, offering responsive acceleration for urban merging and highway cruising. The 10-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, adapting well to varying speeds and inclines. Four-wheel drive boosts traction on slippery roads and gravel, giving confidence whether driving through rain, snow, or unpaved routes. The suspension is tuned for comfort, absorbing bumps and minimizing cabin noise, making it a relaxed choice for daily driving and longer journeys alike.
Safety is a clear strength, with a suite of active features tailored for real-world scenarios. Blind spot monitoring helps with lane changes, while the rearview camera aids parking and reversing. Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control maintains set distances on highways, reducing fatigue during long trips. Evasive Steering Assist and emergency communication through SYNC 3 911 Assist add extra layers of protection. Standard ABS, stability control, and multiple airbags provide baseline security for all occupants.
Key features include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, remote start system, and a power liftgate for added convenience in daily use. The Voice-Activated Touchscreen Navigation System, SiriusXM radio, and 12-speaker sound system enhance travel enjoyment. Automatic temperature control and dual-zone climate settings ensure personalized comfort. Equipment Group 202A and Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ package combine to deliver advanced technology and convenience throughout the cabin.
Compared to alternatives like the Chevrolet Traverse and Honda Pilot, the Explorer stands out with its turbocharged EcoBoost engine and advanced driver assistance features. While the Traverse offers similar space, the Explorer's technology suite and four-wheel drive system provide an edge for drivers prioritizing capability and connectivity. Against the Pilot, the Explorer delivers more robust safety tech and a more modern infotainment interface, adding value for tech-focused families.

So far so good - smooth ride - plenty of power for a 2.3 liter 4 cyl which coming from someone who drove a 5.0 V8 for 20 yrs- much better on gas - 4.0
Served our family well!

Trading my car in next week, I am gonna miss my Explorer. It’s been a good family car. Draw backs: the screen is glitchy at times. Some electronics malfunctioned and I won’t lie, they can be costly to fix. Comfortable, spacious. I never had any mechanical problems with the car, but I did take very good care of it at well. I maintained all recommended services and any replacements were all genuine Ford parts. I hope whoever buys our car, loves it as much as we did.
