2023 Ford Edge SEL

Notes from the dealer
Enthusiasts who value connection to the road will find the Edge SEL's steering response and chassis balance particularly satisfying, especially for a midsize SUV. The ActiveX-trimmed, FreeForm Sport Bucket Seats hug you in place, supporting spirited drives or relaxed cruising alike. Heated seats and dual zone climate control maintain comfort regardless of season, making this SUV a strong fit for Iowa's variable climate. Past non-smoker ownership adds peace of mind for those seeking a clean, well-cared-for cabin to complement their daily drives.
The Edge SELâs EcoBoost 2.0L I4 GTDi DOHC Turbocharged VCT engine delivers brisk throttle response, while the 8-speed automatic transmission shifts promptly and smoothly, especially in manual mode. Downshifts come with little hesitation, giving you confidence when overtaking or entering a highway onramp. Steering is weighted for accuracy but remains light enough for effortless maneuvering in tight spaces. The four-wheel independent suspension settles confidently after dips and undulations, communicating grip and balance without excessive body roll, making it genuinely enjoyable on twisty roads. Brake pedal feel is progressive, instilling trust whether braking hard into a corner or modulating speed in traffic.
Safety systems on this SUV are designed to elevate confidence without interfering with true driver engagement. Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control step in subtly during spirited maneuvers or slippery surfaces, allowing you to explore the Edgeâs limits while maintaining composure. Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning provide gentle nudges rather than intrusive corrections, letting the driver stay in command. Blind Spot Monitoring and the rear camera further expand situational awareness, creating a secure, enjoyable experience even when pushing the pace or threading through traffic.
Equipment Group 201A and the Convenience Package combine to enhance both comfort and functionality. The heated steering wheel keeps hands warm on chilly mornings, while the 12-speaker audio system with SiriusXM 360L immerses you in crisp sound. Power driver and passenger seats with leather trim ensure long-haul comfort, while the fully automatic headlights and auto-dimming rear-view mirror reduce distractions during night driving. Rear Parking Sensors and remote keyless entry add practical convenience, so the focus stays on the drive itself.
Against rivals like the Chevrolet Blazer and Nissan Murano, the Edge SEL distinguishes itself with a more engaging steering calibration and a chassis tuned for responsive handling rather than just comfort.
Buyers often ask if the Edge SEL is fun on winding roads or just a commuter. Its steering delivers genuine feedback, and the suspension maintains poise through quick transitions. The 8-speed automaticâs manual mode provides satisfying control, especially when tackling hills or merging aggressively. The heated seats and climate controls keep you comfortable no matter how spirited the drive.

Best Auto in My 64 Years of Owning cars

I love my edge! I bought this car in the end of 2018 and have owed it for over 6 years. NO repairs needed. I am so happy not to have had it tied up for repairs as I am a REALTOR and drive part of every day. The only thing I have had done have been service. Keeping up with oil changes is so necessary. Oh, and I did replace the tires once. - 5.0

Just sold it for $15500. Sure glad I don’t have to depend on KBB, NADA, etc. Every body needs to go to www.shoeboxbooksandpublishing.com and buy this book “Buying A New ( or Used) Car, 5 Things Dealers Don’t Want You To Know “!
