Notes from the dealer
Shoppers cross-shopping several midsize SUVs will find this model especially rewarding if comfort, winter capability, and premium touches matter. Its heated ActiveX-trimmed seats, heated steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control make it ideal for buyers navigating variable climates such as those found in Sw Mt Vernon, IA. For families and professionals alike, its non-smoker, one-owner pedigree further underscores its reliability and pristine condition, making it a trustworthy daily companion.
In performance, the SUVâs EcoBoost 2.0L I4 GTDi DOHC Turbocharged VCT engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive provides a confident, responsive drive. While some competitors offer V6 engines, the Edgeâs turbocharged four-cylinder balances strong acceleration with efficiency. The 4-wheel independent suspension ensures a composed ride, whether handling urban commutes or open highway stretches, and the standard AWD delivers added assurance in poor weather where others may require an upgrade.
Safety is a core advantage, as the Edge SEL includes Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, and a rear camera as standard equipmentâ"features that often cost extra on the Honda Passport or Chevrolet Blazer. The addition of rear parking sensors, emergency communication via SYNC 4 911 Assist, and full ABS braking further supports driver confidence. The inclusion of a knee airbag and multiple side-impact airbags rounds out the comprehensive active protection suite.
Feature highlights include the Equipment Group 201A and Convenience Package, which bundle heated front seats, power driver and passenger seats, a power liftgate, and a premium 12-speaker audio system. The leather-wrapped steering wheel, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and remote keyless entry elevate daily usability. With split folding rear seats, the Edge adapts easily to changing passenger and cargo needs, enhancing its utility over longer trips or busy weeks.
Compared to the Chevrolet Blazer and Honda Passport, the Edge SEL delivers a superior blend of standard luxury and safety tech at its price point. While the Passport emphasizes ruggedness and the Blazer leans on sporty design, the Edge stands out for its everyday comfort and comprehensive equipment. The fact that advanced safety and heated features are standard, not optional, positions it as the better value when weighing real-world use and ownership satisfaction.
Buyers often ask why they should choose the Edge over other midsize SUVs. The Edge SEL offers all-wheel drive, heated seating, and advanced driver aids without requiring costly add-ons. Its one-owner, non-smoker status reassures those concerned about vehicle history. If your priorities include winter driving confidence, interior comfort, and a premium tech suite, this model consistently outpaces alternatives. The flexible cargo area and power liftgate further ease daily life, making it an excellent all-rounder.

Best Auto in My 64 Years of Owning cars

I love my edge! I bought this car in the end of 2018 and have owed it for over 6 years. NO repairs needed. I am so happy not to have had it tied up for repairs as I am a REALTOR and drive part of every day. The only thing I have had done have been service. Keeping up with oil changes is so necessary. Oh, and I did replace the tires once. - 5.0

Just sold it for $15500. Sure glad I don’t have to depend on KBB, NADA, etc. Every body needs to go to www.shoeboxbooksandpublishing.com and buy this book “Buying A New ( or Used) Car, 5 Things Dealers Don’t Want You To Know “!
