Notes from the dealer
Analytical shoppers seeking to maximize every dollar spent will appreciate that this SUV includes high-demand technology, comfort, and convenience features as standard. For drivers in areas like Sw Mt Vernon, IA, the AWD system ensures surefooted performance in all weather, while the SEL trimâs feature set minimizes the need for costly add-ons. The 2024 Edge SEL is tailored for value-conscious buyers who want an all-purpose family vehicle with everyday luxuries already included.
Performance-wise, the EcoBoost 2.0L I4 GTDi DOHC Turbocharged VCT engine delivers strong output within this price point, matched to an efficient 8-speed automatic transmission for smooth daily driving. AWD enhances traction for confident commuting and family travel, especially in regions with variable weather. With EPA ratings of 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, fuel savings add up compared to less efficient midsize SUVs, and the proven EcoBoost powertrain is engineered for low long-term maintenance costsâ"helping owners lower total cost of ownership over time.
Safety value is a clear strength, as the Edge SEL includes critical features standard rather than as costly options. Standard ABS brakes, a full complement of airbagsâ"including knee and side impact unitsâ"electronic stability control, and SYNC 4 911 Assist emergency communication bring peace of mind. Rear parking sensors and auto high-beam headlights add further safety at no extra cost, while competitors often charge more for similar coverage. The inclusion of these technologies as standard provides tangible savings and peace of mind for buyers prioritizing active safety.
The Edge SELâs standard equipment list is unusually robust for its class. Heated ActiveX-trimmed bucket seats, a heated steering wheel, power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a universal garage door opener all come with the SEL trim. The Convenience Package adds practical features like a wireless charging pad and 110V power outlet, translating into real-world savings over the common practice of bundling these as costly options. Remote start, power liftgate, and a 12-speaker SiriusXM with 360L sound system also enhance everyday utility and enjoyment.
Compared to direct competitors like the Honda Passport EX-L and Chevrolet Blazer LT, the Edge SEL distinguishes itself by including featuresâ"such as heated front seats and wireless chargingâ"that often require higher trims or expensive packages elsewhere. While others might charge extra for all-wheel drive or advanced infotainment, these come standard here, maximizing value without compromise. The Edgeâs comprehensive equipment and efficient powertrain position it as the segmentâs âsmart moneyâ pick for buyers focused on feature-to-price ratio.
Whatâs included as standard equipment? The SEL comes with AWD, heated ActiveX-trimmed seats, power liftgate, wireless charging, and advanced safety featuresâ"all without upcharge. Is this vehicle worth the price? Yes; its high-content standard spec outpaces similarly priced rivals. Which trim level offers the best value? The SEL is engineered as the value leader, balancing luxury and affordability.

Best Auto in My 64 Years of Owning cars

I love my edge! I bought this car in the end of 2018 and have owed it for over 6 years. NO repairs needed. I am so happy not to have had it tied up for repairs as I am a REALTOR and drive part of every day. The only thing I have had done have been service. Keeping up with oil changes is so necessary. Oh, and I did replace the tires once. - 5.0

Just sold it for $15500. Sure glad I don’t have to depend on KBB, NADA, etc. Every body needs to go to www.shoeboxbooksandpublishing.com and buy this book “Buying A New ( or Used) Car, 5 Things Dealers Don’t Want You To Know “!
