Notes from the dealer
Enthusiasts who value a rewarding drive in all conditions will appreciate how this SUV transforms daily routines into something enjoyable. Whether threading through morning traffic or gliding along Iowaâs open roads, the Edgeâs all-wheel-drive system and well-balanced suspension make every input feel deliberate and connected. Its Ebony interior is designed for comfort on longer trips, while heated seats and a heated steering wheel add tactile delight during colder Midwest mornings. The non-smoker history also means the cabin remains fresh and inviting.
Performance takes center stage in the Edge SEL, thanks to its EcoBoost 2.0L I4 GTDi DOHC Turbocharged VCT engine and 8-speed automatic transmission. Throttle response is crisp and immediate, making highway merges and lane changes feel natural and secure. The transmission delivers seamless shifts, whether accelerating briskly or cruising at speed, and offers manual control for drivers who want to interact more directly with the powertrain. All-wheel drive ensures traction and confidence in changing weather, enhancing the sense of control. The SUVâs suspension is tuned for composure, absorbing bumps without sacrificing feedback, while the brake pedal provides dependable, linear stopping power that inspires trust on both city streets and winding roads.
Safety systems in the Edge SEL are engineered to support an enthusiastâs active driving style without intruding on the experience. Electronic Stability Control works subtly in the background, intervening only when necessary to maintain composure during sudden maneuvers. Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning act as unobtrusive guardians, gently nudging the SUV back on track if attention wavers, but never dulling the sense of driver engagement. The rear camera and Rear Parking Sensors add confidence when reversing or maneuvering in tight spaces, making daily driving more intuitive.
Feature highlights in this Edge SEL include the Convenience Package, which streamlines access and comfort. Dual Zone Climate Control ensures both driver and passenger remain comfortable in any weather, while the 12-speaker sound system creates a rich, immersive environment for spirited drives or relaxed commutes. ActiveX Trimmed Heated Bucket Seats offer supportive comfort and warmth, and the Power Liftgate provides effortless access to cargo. The SYNC 4 system with 911 Assist keeps drivers connected and secure, while thoughtful touches like an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and leather-wrapped steering wheel elevate the tactile experience.
Against competitors such as the Chevrolet Blazer and Honda Passport, the Edge SEL stands out for its balance of engagement and day-to-day refinement.
Is the Edge SEL comfortable for long drives? Absolutelyâ"its suspension and supportive seats cushion hours on the road, while ambient cabin quiet amplifies the pleasure of extended journeys. Does all-wheel drive make a difference? It enhances traction and composure, especially during sudden weather changes or spirited maneuvers.

Favorite Car Ever
by CaliSkiCat on 8/19/2026 7:13:49 PM
My titanium Edge has been my favorite car ever. I splurged on leather seating, cooled front seats, tow package, moon/sun roof. I get so many compliments anytime driving family or friends around. This AWD Edge handles highway traffic, rain, ice and snow with ease. First time taking a steep drive with ice and no chains handled like it was nothing (I did put Michelin cross climates on). I now live in the mountains so extra important in winters. It's a super comfortable AWD vehicle, not doing any 4x4ing but has pretty decent clearance. Only issue i have experienced is the tail gate had a issue with mechanism and warranty covered repair. Now it just sometimes lags and slow to raise. Otherwise a solid reliable vehicle hope it lasts well past it's 9th year come this fall 2026. Also mine is black and no signs of paint wear either. I did touch up the plastic trim after 7+ years that started to fade with cerakote trim coating and came back like brand new. I'm not ready to replace my Edge anytime soon (or ever). - 5.0
