2024 Ford Edge SEL

Notes from the dealer
Analytical buyers seeking maximum value will appreciate how the Edge SEL stacks up against segment alternatives. The SUVâs feature set targets those who research standard equipment and demand comfort, utility, and safety without unnecessary extras. Its standard AWD, heated seats, and advanced infotainment system suit families, commuters, and spreadsheet-driven shoppers who expect a robust package at the SEL level, eliminating the need to step up to pricier trims for core amenities.
The Edge SEL delivers strong performance and efficiency for its class, powered by a 2.0L EcoBoost I4 engine delivering turbocharged response through an 8-speed automatic and standard AWD. This configuration offers notable power for everyday driving and confident highway merging. Estimated fuel economy is competitive among AWD crossovers, and Fordâs turbocharged engine typically yields lower maintenance costs versus V6 alternatives, making the Edgeâs powertrain a smart long-term value.
Safety is a key value point on the Edge SEL, with a suite of advanced features included as standard equipmentâ"not as pricey upgrades. Key systems are blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, ABS brakes, knee and side airbags, SYNC 4 emergency communication, and auto high-beam headlights. Many competitors offer similar protection only in upper trims or with additional packages, while the Edge builds them in to maximize safety value.
The Edge SEL comes equipped with the Convenience Package and Equipment Group 201A, bundling practical upgrades like a wireless charging pad, heated steering wheel, universal garage door opener, and power front seats. Dual-zone automatic climate control, remote start, and 18-inch aluminum wheels are included. These amenities, along with the 12-speaker SiriusXM audio and 110V outlet, are standard, offering comfort and technology without the upcharges typical on competitors.
Compared to the Honda Passport EX-L and Chevrolet Blazer LT, the Edge SEL distinguishes itself by including AWD, heated front seats, and power liftgate as standard, where these features are often optional or reserved for higher trims on rivals. This approach makes the Edge a high-value proposition, delivering more content at a similar or lower initial outlay, and reducing the need for aftermarket or bundled upgrades.
Standard equipment highlights include AWD, heated ActiveX seats, wireless charging, and a 12-speaker audio system. The Edge SELâs price-to-feature ratio outpaces many midsize SUVs, making it a strong value. SEL trim is widely viewed as the sweet spot for balancing cost and included equipment. Features like power liftgate, remote start, and advanced safety tech are included here, while theyâd cost extra on most competitors, maximizing total value for buyers seeking the âsmart moneyâ choice.

Best Auto in My 64 Years of Owning cars

I love my edge! I bought this car in the end of 2018 and have owed it for over 6 years. NO repairs needed. I am so happy not to have had it tied up for repairs as I am a REALTOR and drive part of every day. The only thing I have had done have been service. Keeping up with oil changes is so necessary. Oh, and I did replace the tires once. - 5.0

Just sold it for $15500. Sure glad I don’t have to depend on KBB, NADA, etc. Every body needs to go to www.shoeboxbooksandpublishing.com and buy this book “Buying A New ( or Used) Car, 5 Things Dealers Don’t Want You To Know “!
