Enthusiasts who value sharp steering, responsive chassis tuning, and an SUV that feels alive during daily driving will appreciate what the Escape ST-Line offers. The 1.5L EcoBoost engine and 8-speed automatic transmission with AWD ensure control in all weather, making it especially relevant for those tackling both city streets and changing road conditions common in the Sw Mt Vernon, IA area. Drivers who pay attention to the way a vehicle communicates road texture and responds to subtle inputs will find the ST-Line's sport steering wheel, four-wheel independent suspension, and sport contour bucket seats create a uniquely interactive experience. The Ebony interior and Agate Black Metallic exterior further complement its athletic persona.
5L EcoBoost turbocharged engine delivering brisk throttle response and smooth acceleration across the rev range. The 8-speed automatic shifts promptly and unobtrusively, complementing the AWD system that inspires confidence on slick or uneven pavement. Steering is notably precise with speed-sensing calibration, offering just the right amount of weight and feedback for enthusiastic cornering without feeling twitchy during highway cruising. The chassis remains composed over broken pavement, while the tuned suspension strikes a balance between sporty firmness and everyday comfort.
Active safety systems in the Escape ST-Line are tuned to contribute to driver confidence without dulling the experience. Electronic Stability Control subtly assists when the limits are approached, stepping in only when needed to maintain composure in quick maneuvers. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go works smoothly, allowing the driver to maintain a natural pace in traffic while reducing fatigue. Emergency communication through SYNC 4 911 Assist and the rear parking camera enhance awareness, while brake assist and traction control step in seamlessly during slippery conditions. Lane-keeping and speed sign recognition support attentive drivers, supplementing rather than replacing the driverâs control.
The Escape ST-Line comes equipped with features focused on both enjoyment and practical convenience. The Tech Pack #1 provides advanced connected navigation and technology integration, while the Cold Weather Package ensures comfort with amenities suited for all climates. The sport steering wheel and sport contour bucket seats maintain an athletic, supportive feel, and the 12-speaker audio system delivers immersive sound for daily commutes or road trips.
Against other compact SUVs like the Mazda CX-5 and Honda CR-V, the Escape ST-Line distinguishes itself with a more engaging steering feel and a suspension that delivers both responsiveness and composure.
How composed does the Escape ST-Line feel on the highway? The tuned suspension and speed-sensitive steering deliver a stable, confident ride with minimal body roll, even at higher speeds or during quick lane changes. Is the ride comfortable on long trips? The combination of sport contour bucket seats and dual-zone climate control ensures fatigue-free journeys, while the cabin remains quiet and well-insulated.

Great performance highway/city/winters

Got the '21 SEL Hybrid used, and it's felt like a steal. I was moving from the south to the northern midwest, and needed a car that could hold family of 4+gear, had good mileage, good handling and driving all seasons, and really preferred some creature comforts. 3 months after purchase, I had to take it on the big test of 3k+ mile trip into the Dakotas, ending in a winter storm the last 250 miles. It handled everything wonderfully, and in comfort. MPG dropped to the low-mid 30's when I was doing pure highway, jumped up to low 40's with combo city/highway. No idea what people are complaining about on engine straining/noise, this thing has handled everything from driving 80 along the highways to climbing a steep grade hill during a blizzard. No issues at all, the AWD is a great need for my winters, and it's more modern features work well. My assumption is those complaining of engine noise/issues have had poor maintenance. I've kept up with mine very diligently, and have nice tires in place to help with winters here. The interesting positive is my year/model came with a map nav and sync as standard. So it has mapping/updating/etc all built in. But I never use it as I still prefer my phone Android Auto setup. Biggest complaint is it feels like there's just not quite enough space in the back, even when dropping the seats. You can fit luggage/hardware/gear in there, but you'll need to be creative. I ended up getting the roof rack as a fall-back for bigger things. - 5.0

40 mpg city, 30+ mpg highway. Great acceleration and comfort. Can't be beat for it's low ticket price! - 5.0
Great SUV

Bought my car brand new February 2023. It’s a 2022 model sports package. Love the way it handles. rarely uses gas as I do mostly in town errands. Smaller than my previous Non plug-in Ford Escape, but actually like it that way. Backseat does fold down and plenty of rear cargo room.
