Notes from the dealer
Analytical buyers who scrutinize every line item will appreciate how the Explorer Limited converts dollars into real-world comfort and convenience. Every-day features like heated steering wheel, 12-speaker premium audio, rain-sensing wipers, and power-folding third-row seating come standard, sparing buyers the need to upgrade or add expensive packages. For families in Sw Mt Vernon, IA dealing with diverse weather and frequent road trips, this SUVâs included features streamline daily routines and enhance every journey, delivering more value with fewer compromises.
From a performance-value perspective, the Explorer Limitedâs 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission provide a compelling mix of power and efficiency at this price. The 4WD system ensures confident traction in rain or snow, while EPA-estimated 20 city and 27 highway MPG figures help keep fuel costs manageable for a midsize SUV. Maintenance costs remain reasonable thanks to Fordâs proven EcoBoost platform, supporting both active lifestyles and budget-conscious ownership without sacrificing capability.
Safety value is a core strength of this SUV, with standard features that often cost extra elsewhere. The Explorer Limited includes auto high-beam headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, blind-spot awareness, and SYNC 3 911 Assist. These safety systems work together to enhance driver awareness and response in challenging conditions. While many competitors require stepping up to premium trims or added packages for similar protections, these technologies are fully included here.
Key packages such as the Limited Convenience Package and Limited Technology Package add meaningful value with features like remote keyless entry, power tilt/telescoping steering, heated rear seats, rear air conditioning, and an integrated garage door transmitter. The navigation system, power passenger seat, and memory driverâs seat all come standard, making daily driving more convenient. The Class IV Trailer Tow Package further expands utility, supporting weekend projects or family getaways without the need for aftermarket upgrades.
When stacked against competitors like the Chevrolet Traverse and Honda Pilot, the Explorer Limitedâs feature-to-price ratio is formidable. While the Traverse and Pilot may require extra-cost options for items like a premium sound system, navigation, or heated rear seats, this SUV integrates these as standard. The comprehensive feature set and proven powertrain deliver a high-value proposition for buyers seeking more amenities and technology without inflating the final price.
What features are included as standard equipment? The Explorer Limited comes equipped with leather heated/ventilated seating, navigation, advanced active safety features, a premium audio system, and a power liftgateâ"all standard. Is this SUV worth the price? Yes, given the volume of amenities and advanced tech included at no extra charge.

Love it.

Single guy looking for a vehicle that is fun to drive but can haul junk too, and this fits the bill. I came from a 2018 Lincoln MKZ 3.0t AWD, this has all the same features but this does it better. Mine had one minor panel issue the dealership is fixing, but otherwise everything is solid. Installed a BOV, I find it funny to blow past people with a quiet exhaust and a loud Spanish sound as they disappear into the distance. Fantastic nighttime viability over the lower trims. Actually just better over all than the lower trims. Bolt ons and a tune just puts this in its own league for the price you pay, the only thing that comes close is a 2026 dodge Durango RT 392. ST is not for everyone but it is for me. "Sporty" family hauler my butt. Wrong demographic. This is a genuine fast mid-sized SUZ that you'd have to go luxury to get close to the performance numbers otherwise. - 5.0
