Notes from the dealer
This SUV is designed for buyers in the research phase who value a combination of athletic styling and family-friendly functionality. The ST-Line trim includes heated ActiveX trimmed captain's chairs with Miko inserts, a heated steering wheel, and a power liftgate, making it easy to transition from daily errands to family trips. Its 4WD capability is particularly useful in regions with variable weather, such as the Iowa area, providing reassurance during winter months and on rural roads. With seating for up to seven and flexible cargo space, it adapts well to changing needs, from school runs to weekend getaways.
Under the hood, the Explorer is equipped with a turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine that delivers smooth and responsive power for highway merging and city driving alike. The 10-speed automatic transmission shifts seamlessly, contributing to a composed, confident driving experience. Four-wheel independent suspension and electronic stability control enhance comfort and agility, especially on uneven or slippery surfaces. The ST-Line's balance of ride quality and responsiveness makes it equally suitable for urban commutes and highway road trips, while the Class IV Trailer Tow Package increases its versatility for towing needs.
Safety is a core focus, with an array of features working together to provide peace of mind. Blind spot monitoring, rearview and 360-degree cameras, and rear parking sensors help with lane changes and tight parking situations. Advanced systems like lane-keeping assist and electronic stability control intervene if the vehicle senses unintentional drifting or loss of traction. The inclusion of dual front impact and side airbags, knee airbags, and an emergency communication system with SYNC 3 911 Assist ensures that both active and passive safety measures support occupants during unexpected events.
The Explorer ST-Line is equipped with an extensive suite of technology and comfort features. The Bang & Olufsen 12-speaker sound system, SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and navigation system make connectivity and entertainment seamless. The twin-panel moonroof adds an open-air feel to the cabin, while rain-sensing wipers and auto high-beam headlights adapt to changing weather conditions. Third-row bench seating and power-adjustable front seats offer flexible configurations for passengers and cargo alike. The presence of heated mirrors and automatic temperature control further enhances daily usability.
In comparison to other midsize SUVs like the Chevrolet Traverse and Honda Pilot, the Explorer ST-Line stands out with its turbocharged engine, advanced technology suite, and sporty trim features.

Love it.
by Alex on 8/9/2026 11:55:02 PM
Single guy looking for a vehicle that is fun to drive but can haul junk too, and this fits the bill. I came from a 2018 Lincoln MKZ 3.0t AWD, this has all the same features but this does it better. Mine had one minor panel issue the dealership is fixing, but otherwise everything is solid. Installed a BOV, I find it funny to blow past people with a quiet exhaust and a loud Spanish sound as they disappear into the distance. Fantastic nighttime viability over the lower trims. Actually just better over all than the lower trims. Bolt ons and a tune just puts this in its own league for the price you pay, the only thing that comes close is a 2026 dodge Durango RT 392. ST is not for everyone but it is for me. "Sporty" family hauler my butt. Wrong demographic. This is a genuine fast mid-sized SUZ that you'd have to go luxury to get close to the performance numbers otherwise. - 5.0
