2024 Ford Maverick XLT
- Certified vehicle
Notes from the dealer
Analytical buyers who compare equipment lists and prioritize maximizing every dollar will find this truck especially appealing. The inclusion of the XLT Luxury Package, modular hard drop-in bedliner, and trailer brake controller means daily convenience and serious work capabilities are built in, not added on. For those in Sw Mt Vernon, IA facing variable weather and mixed driving conditions, the all-wheel drive system and heated mirrors translate to everyday practicality and year-round confidence without requiring expensive options.
Performance-wise, the Maverick XLT offers the EcoBoost 2.0L I4 GTDi DOHC Turbocharged VCT engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, delivering robust power for the segment. Owners benefit from a balanced power-to-price ratio, as this setup enables confident acceleration and assured handling in various conditions. With EPA ratings of 22 city and 29 highway MPG, the truck keeps fuel expenses modest for its class. Routine maintenance is straightforward, making long-term ownership cost-effective when compared to larger, thirstier trucks that demand more at the pump and in upkeep.
The Maverick XLT provides substantial safety value by including a comprehensive suite of standard features that many rivals offer only as paid add-ons. Buyers receive automatic high-beam headlights, a rearview camera, electronic stability control, ABS brakes, and multiple airbagsâ"including knee airbagsâ"at no additional cost. These features work together to enhance driver awareness and occupant protection, ensuring peace of mind is built in rather than bolted on. In contrast, competing trucks often require buyers to step up to higher trims or select expensive safety packages to access this level of standard safety technology.
Standard equipment on this truck is extensive, combining daily comfort, utility, and modern tech. The XLT Luxury Package includes heated seats and a soft vinyl-wrapped heated steering wheel for winter comfort, while the 400W inverter with USB console provides power on the go. The Black Appearance Package adds unique design details, and the 4K Tow Package equips the truck for serious hauling with a trailer hitch receiver, upgraded cooling, and trailer brake controller. ActiveX trimmed front bucket seats and automatic temperature control further enhance daily drives.
When comparing value, the Ford Maverick XLT maintains an edge over competitors like the Hyundai Santa Cruz and the Honda Ridgeline. While the Santa Cruz may offer similar size, it often lacks standard towing hardware and heated features at this price point. The Ridgeline, though refined, typically requires stepping up to more expensive trims for comparable utility and tech. The Maverick XLT delivers a higher feature-to-price ratio, maximizing functionality without inflating the bottom line.
Whatâs included as standard equipment? The XLT trim comes with all-wheel drive, heated seats, Black Appearance and Luxury Packages, bedliner, and an extensive suite of safety technology. Is this truck worth the price? Yesâ"the included comfort, safety, and towing features would cost extra with most competitors.

Nearly 60k and still doing great.

This is my second one, first was Totalled. I’ve enjoyed this truck and its versatility is great. I need a bed occasionally and this is plenty for my needs. 2.0 Turbo is strong and mpg always above 28. Used to get 29+ before I changed tire size. But I knew that going in. Doing oil changes every 4k and transmission service every 30-35k. No issues with phone connection or onboard systems. One window switch was replaced under warranty. Some owners complaints are unfounded and nitpicking. - 5.0
Perfect compact truck.

It is perfect for everything I do, small appliance pick up, fishing, kayaking, towing small boats. And I get 41MPG. Plastic interior is a little cheap, but so was the truck. Hybrid system is extremely smooth. Lots of power, picks up fast coming from a Corolla. - 5.0
Nice little truck with great MPG

I drive a lot for my job and this truck has been great for its MPG. I switched to this from a Bronco sport and they handle very much the same. However I was only getting 25 MPG with that. Averaging 41 with the Mav!
