Notes from the dealer
Analytical buyers who scrutinize equipment lists and cost-benefit ratios will appreciate the Forte5 LXâs transparent value proposition. This hatchback caters to practical drivers who prioritize upfront value and ongoing affordability, whether commuting in Sw Mt Vernon, IA or tackling daily errands. Its combination of knit and woven cloth seating, power windows and mirrors, and a user-friendly infotainment system means that budget-conscious shoppers can enjoy a well-appointed interior without stretching their finances. The split folding rear seat and generous cargo flexibility further enhance its practicality, providing real-world utility for students, young professionals, or families needing an efficient second vehicle.
Performance in the Forte5 LX is optimized for cost efficiency and reliability rather than sheer speed, making it a smart pick for drivers who want dependable daily transportation. The 2.0L I4 DOHC Dual CVVT engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission strikes a balance between responsive city driving and low maintenance needs. With EPA estimates of 25 mpg city and 33 mpg highway, owners can expect meaningful fuel savings over time compared to less efficient compact cars. The front-wheel drive layout is straightforward and proven, minimizing long-term mechanical complexity and associated costs. For value-focused shoppers, this powertrain provides an ideal mix of performance and economic operation.
Safety value is a highlight, as the Forte5 LX comes equipped with key features that are standard rather than optional. The inclusion of ABS brakes, electronic stability control, traction control, and a rearview camera means buyers donât have to pay extra for baseline protection. Dual front impact airbags, side impact airbags, overhead airbags, and brake assist work together to maximize occupant security, meeting the expectations of buyers who compare safety equipment line by line. While some competitors reserve rearview cameras or advanced braking systems for upper trims or add-on packages, the Forte5 LX offers them as part of its standard configuration, reinforcing its value proposition.
A closer look at the Forte5 LXâs features reveals thoughtful inclusions such as fully automatic headlights, heated door mirrors, steering wheel mounted audio controls, and an AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with SiriusXM. The interior is finished in black knit and woven cloth, offering comfort without the premium price.
Compared to other compact hatchbacks like the Ford Focus SE and Mazda3 Sport, the Forte5 LX excels in standard equipment for the money.
Whatâs included as standard equipment? The Forte5 LX offers air conditioning, a rearview camera, SiriusXM radio, power windows, and a 6-speed automatic transmissionâ"all standard. Is this hatchback worth the price? With its blend of comfort, safety, and convenience features bundled into the entry trim, it offers excellent value relative to competitors requiring costly upgrades.

Best car I've ever owned.
by Shawn C on 11/2/2025 3:20:56 AM
I bought my car brand new out of Tacoma and I drove it for 7 years but 85,000 plus miles on it and drove it all over the western United States trips to Texas, 4 trips to San Diego and back to Tacoma was absolutely no problem. I'm a big guy in this car had great room and even with my big size and the car loaded down they ran like a champ on the freeway. I traded it in a year ago and I've regretted it ever since I'll give up my brand new car to get into another Forte5 if I can find one without too many miles on it. - 5.0
Get's the Job Done

I purchased this car in August of 2018 with 29K miles. Now it's got 228K miles and it's been very reliable. It's just the base LX model with no options, except for the Aurora Black exterior color. It's roomy inside and the trunk is a good size. It rides decent, but don't blazing fast acceleration. It's super fuel efficient which helped a lot when gas prices spiked. Now with rust starting and getting into some big repairs, it's time to replace it. It get's you from here to there very dependably and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a basic, fuel efficient compact car to get you around. - 5.0

Good gas. CHANGE YOUR OIL. This car is has a 11.5/1 compression ratio you idiots. That's HIGH PERFORMANCE. And DIRECT INJECTION. Keep your oil topped off. Kia warranties this motor for FIFTEEN freaking years or 150,000 MILES.
