The 2011 Nissan Rogue SV stands out as a high-value SUV for long-term ownership, combining proven reliability with practical features and sensible fuel efficiency. Its reputation for durability and a comparatively strong resale value make it a compelling choice for those seeking an economical yet capable crossover. Finished in Super Black with a Black interior, it delivers a well-rounded package that supports smart financial decisions over years of use.

Pragmatic buyers who prioritize reliability, ease of use, and long-lasting durability will appreciate what this SUV offers. With all-wheel drive and a comfortable, versatile interior, the Rogue adapts well to daily commutes, family errands, and seasonal weather challenges often found in areas like eastern Iowa. Its reputation for holding value, coupled with a straightforward maintenance profile, makes it a sound investment for those who want predictable ownership costs and minimal surprises.

Performance in the Rogue comes from a 2.5L I4 DOHC 16V engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), delivering consistent power while focusing on longevity and efficiency. The all-wheel drive system enhances traction and control, providing confidence on wet or snowy roads. The CVT's smooth delivery reduces wear on internal components, supporting the vehicle's reputation for running reliably through years of regular driving demands.

Safety features in this SUV directly support lower long-term ownership risk. The Rogue includes electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, dual front and side impact airbags, and an exterior parking camera that aids visibility in tight spots. Occupant sensing airbags, anti-whiplash front head restraints, and traction control further protect both passengers and investment value. These systems work in concert to help prevent accidents, reducing the likelihood of costly repairs and interruptions.

The SV trim is equipped with functional features such as a navigation system with a 5-inch color touch screen, remote keyless entry, a power driver seat, and an upgraded cloth interior for comfort. Steering wheel-mounted audio controls, AM/FM/CD with XM radio, and a rear window defroster add to daily convenience. Split folding rear seats and roof rails increase cargo flexibility, accommodating everything from groceries to weekend gear without hassle.

Compared to rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, the Rogue SV delivers a competitive balance of reliability, feature set, and ownership cost. Its standard all-wheel drive is a strength in regions with variable weather. While all three models have strong resale value, the Rogue's lower entry and maintenance costs often give it an edge for budget-conscious buyers who still want a well-equipped SUV.

What kind of fuel economy does the Rogue achieve? According to EPA figures, it returns 22 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. Is Nissan considered reliable for the long term? The brand and this model are known for solid reliability and a straightforward maintenance schedule. What warranty coverage was included from the factory? The original Nissan warranty provided 5 years or 60,000 miles of powertrain coverage, 5 years of unlimited-mile corrosion protection, and 3 years or 36,000 miles of roadside assistance, which helps protect your investment early in ownership.

by Richard on 12/19/2025 12:57:47 AM

I bought the car new and have 108k miles in the rust belt. I only take it to a local shop i trust. Over the last few years the repair cost have averaged around 1k each year, but the catholic has held up and I'm satisfied with it.

I purchased this car used in 2018 and didnt have issues until recently the ac compressor needed to get fixed. Other than that, its running amazing! Very powerful, perfect for long drives and saves a lot of gas, has the extra space! Truthfully, a great car for it to be at 217k miles in. Very reliable.

It won't let me buy a Truck

by LTymore on 1/23/2025 3:17:40 AM

I've owned my 2013 Nissan Rogue SV AWD since day 1. Purchased from a dealer in june 2013. As of today this vehicle has 106,000 miles on it. I have taken this vehicle from NY to Florida several times with no issues. The CVT is way better for acceleration. I can pass cars on a freeway at 90 -95mph with eas, althouh I do not do this often. I owned it in NY from 2013 - 2015. I then moved south in 2015 and still own it as of this review January 2025. It is now driven in Georgia as a daily driver with no issues. Maintenance: I switched to 5w-30 synthetic oil after the firsy year. I change my own oil every 5,000 miles. I replaced the brake pads once at around 80.000 miles. I am still on the original rotors. Replaced tires 3x. First alignment in 2024 after replacing left side leaking boot from CV axle. I also replaced the sway bar lings and lower control arms mainly because the bushings are starting to dry out. I also sprayed all underside bushings with a rejuvinator. wipers, cabin filters, air filters, spark plugs once, flushed radiator once & most importantly drianed CVT fluid, NOT FLUSHED, and refilled with exact amount removed extends the CVT. I track all my repairs and to this date comes to $4,046. That's about $350 a year in maintenace average. My main reason for purchasing the nissan rogue was the comfortable drivers seat and just enough cargo space. The engine is still solid and the frame and other critical parts are holding up .BTW, I still haave the original muffler. This Vehicle will not let me buy a pick-up truck. I pais $24,000 for the rogue. A truck would cost $80,000+ with less reliability. I also still get 25mpg on my 4.2 engine.
