Notes from the dealer
Analytical buyers who scrutinize spec sheets and compare line items will appreciate how the Mustang GT Premium consolidates performance, comfort, and technology in one trim. Key equipmentâ"active valve exhaust, rain-sensing wipers, heated steering wheel, and advanced connectivityâ"comes standard, answering the question: âWhat do I get for my money?â with a feature set that exceeds most rivals at this price point.
Under the hood, the Mustang GT Premium features a 5.0L V8 Ti-VCT engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, offering 450 horsepower and swift response. This yields a substantial power-to-price ratio against competitors. The 10-speedâs efficiency helps achieve reasonable fuel economy for a V8, and routine maintenance costs are kept in check through proven reliability and wide parts availability, further strengthening its value proposition.
Standard safety value is a major highlight, with the GT Premium providing adaptive cruise control, emergency communication system (911 Assist), ABS, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera all included without extra cost. Unlike competitors that often reserve these features for higher trims or expensive options, Mustang buyers enjoy comprehensive safety technology as standard equipment.
The Mustang GT Premiumâs Equipment Group 401A and California Special Package add unique styling cues, memory driver seat, heated and ventilated front seats, full SYNC 3 infotainment with SiriusXM, and a mesh aluminum instrument panel. These enhancements, along with ambient lighting, auto high-beam headlights, and integrated turn signals, create a premium experience without additional outlay, reinforcing its cost-effective appeal.
In direct value comparison, while the Chevrolet Camaro 2SS and Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack offer similar power, both charge extra for features like adaptive cruise, premium audio, or advanced driver aids. The Mustangâs standard suite means you get more included tech and comfort, making it the smart-money sports coupe for buyers focused on getting the most for their investment.
Common research questions include: What is included as standard? The Mustang GT Premium offers leather seating, digital gauges, advanced safety, and a premium sound system. Is it worth the price? Its blend of performance and features answers affirmatively. Which trim is best for value? The GT Premium balances luxury and power. Features like adaptive cruise and B&O audio cost extra elsewhere but are standard here.

Best car I ever owned.
by Barakanocturna on Sunday, January 19, 2025
The first time I saw this vehicle, I simply felt in love with it, because just from the looks of it, i simply couldn't get enough of those curves and and the shape of the design, like a fierce beast driving on the road. Then you have the leather seats, the nice dashboard, the powerful four cylinder engine, the incredible savings on gas you get from it, the sound system and the high performance package, etc., making this vehicle all that I need for my daily commute to go to work and back. My 2020 mustang ecoboost has been the best investment I have made on myself. One review I saw on Youtube says the sound of the muffler comes from the speakers of the car, well, that is not true. I use Pirelli P-Zero Corsa and I am never concerned about them slipping on the road around curves or on wet surfaces, unless I obviously drive like a maniac I assume or it is winter driving conditions, when these tires get more rigid due to being designed soft for gripping the road, I mean, they are not winter tires, but you can adjust the vehicle to winter driving in this case, not a problem. I also love the quick response from the engine in situations where sudden speed is needed to avoid a situation. That for me was the key reason why I saw this car is so convenient, because there are many idiots on the road and it is good to stay away from them. The insurance company is not gonna kill your pocket with it nor the police because, it is a 2.3L engine, right? I have a lot to say about this car so, I totally recommend this vehicle. - 4.0
Gas saving, fast and comfy
by Josh A on Monday, June 05, 2023
You can’t go wrong with one of these ecoboosts. I do recommend 2018 and up, though. Mine has the 10 speed trans with the performance package and it’s extremely quick and fun to drive. It’s my daily driver, so I couldn’t justify getting a gas hogging 5.0. Trust me, I love the GT’s. But for a daily driver, this has way more than enough power for me to have fun with (kept up with a 392 charger) and save money at the pump. Easy to work on, parts are fairly inexpensive to replace and they just look and drive great. Ps. I hit a dead deer, launched in the air and bottomed out. I was terrified the car was destroyed. The only thing that happened was a bent tie rod. These are built ford tough, for sure. - 5.0
MACH 1
by smmonez on Wednesday, September 15, 2021
As a teenager until my early 20s I drove the Mercury Capri and Chevrolet Camaro - then life happened with kids. This Mustang was the first time in a long time I got back into a pony car. I am loving it! The performance, handling, sound, and look of this Mach 1 is amazing. The only complaint I have is the Recaro seats are difficult to get in and out of and require a lot of effort - comfortable to sit in - just a pain to get out of.
