Notes from the dealer
Analytical buyers comparing the Edge SEL to other midsize SUVs will appreciate the extensive list of standard features and robust warranty coverage. This model caters to those who scrutinize spec sheets and demand tangible value, such as a turbocharged engine, leather-trimmed heated seats, power liftgate, and advanced safety systemsâ"all included at no extra charge. The Edge SEL is ideal for value-driven shoppers who expect premium amenities without premium pricing.
The turbocharged 2.0L EcoBoost I4 engine delivers an impressive balance of power and efficiency, paired with an 8-speed automatic for smooth, responsive performance. Buyers seeking optimal cost-to-performance ratio will note the AWD system's inclusion, usually a paid upgrade elsewhere. Maintenance costs are kept low with Fordâs Gold Certified coverage, and the efficient powertrain helps reduce fuel expenses, maximizing overall ownership value.
Standard safety equipment on the Edge SEL sets a high bar for value in its segment. Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Camera, and Automatic Emergency Braking are all included without needing to upgrade. Competitors often limit such features to higher trims or costly add-on packages, but here they are foundational, providing peace of mind and strong safety value from the outset.
Core features such as a heated steering wheel, remote keyless entry, SYNC 4 with SiriusXM, and a hands-free power liftgate elevate convenience. The SUVâs certified status brings extended warranties and transferable protections. Dual-zone climate control, multiple airbags, and an advanced stability system round out a feature set designed to maximize comfort, utility, and long-term reliabilityâ"all at the SEL trim's competitive price point.
In direct comparison, the Edge SEL offers more standard comfort and safety features than the Chevrolet Blazer and Nissan Murano, both of which reserve heated seats and advanced driver aids for pricier trims. Its Gold Certified warranty and AWD as standard reinforce its position as a segment leader for buyers seeking maximum value without compromise.
Standard equipment includes heated leather-trimmed seats, a power liftgate, SYNC 4 infotainment, and advanced safety tech. The Edge SEL is worth the price for those who prioritize features and warranty coverage. The SEL trim typically represents the best value, combining premium amenities and safety at a midrange cost. Features like AWD and advanced safety tech are standard here but optional on many competitors.

Best Auto in My 64 Years of Owning cars
by Anonymous Reviewer on 7/7/2025 11:35:47 AM
I love my edge! I bought this car in the end of 2018 and have owed it for over 6 years. NO repairs needed. I am so happy not to have had it tied up for repairs as I am a REALTOR and drive part of every day. The only thing I have had done have been service. Keeping up with oil changes is so necessary. Oh, and I did replace the tires once. - 5.0

Just sold it for $15500. Sure glad I don’t have to depend on KBB, NADA, etc. Every body needs to go to www.shoeboxbooksandpublishing.com and buy this book “Buying A New ( or Used) Car, 5 Things Dealers Don’t Want You To Know “!
