Dealer Notes
The 2025 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid immediately rewards drivers who crave involvement, with steering that feels precise and responsive and a chassis tuned for confident agility.
This SUV is tailored for driving enthusiasts who notice the difference between vague and communicative steering, appreciate a well-calibrated suspension, and demand a responsive powertrain. If your commute is more than routine, the Escapeâs tactile steering, sport-contour heated seats, and low center of gravity encourage spirited driving, while the plug-in hybrid powertrain delivers instant torque without noise or lag. Itâs ideal for those who enjoy testing dynamic response and want a daily drive that rewards attention to detail.
Performance stands out with the Escape Plug-In Hybridâs 2.5L iVCT engine and electric drive system, producing brisk off-the-line acceleration and a surprisingly athletic character for a compact SUV. Throttle response is crisp, and the eCVT transitions smoothly between electric and gas power. In sport mode, the transmission holds torque longer, allowing for decisive passing and punchier launches. Steering weight is substantial yet natural, providing feedback that sharpens cornering, while the four-wheel independent suspension settles confidently after quick direction changes. Brakes inspire confidence, offering linear bite and a progressive pedal feel, making twisty roads genuinely enjoyable.
Safety technology is seamlessly integrated to enhance, not dilute, the driving experience. Electronic Stability Control intervenes subtly, allowing for spirited cornering while keeping the SUV composed. The suite includes ABS, traction control, and SYNC 4 911 Assist, all complementing confident driving without intrusive correction. Emergency Brake Assist adds assurance in brisk traffic, while lane-keeping aids gently nudge back on course only when truly needed, maintaining the driverâs sense of control and engagement. The result is a safety net that supports dynamic driving without undermining involvement.
Features further amplify the experience, with Equipment Group 700A delivering heated sport-contour seats, a heated steering wheel, and a panoramic Vista Roof for an open, airy cockpit. The 12-speaker sound system immerses you in audio clarity, while the Connected Navigation system keeps you on track during spirited excursions. Dual-zone automatic climate control keeps the cabin comfortable, and 18-inch machined-face aluminum wheels add both style and grip. The power liftgate and keyless entry make daily usability effortless, while sport-tuned details like speed-sensing steering and four-wheel disc brakes support enthusiastic driving.
Compared to alternatives like the Toyota RAV4 Prime and Honda CR-V Hybrid, the Escape Plug-In Hybrid delivers a more engaging steering feel and tighter chassis calibration. While the RAV4 Prime offers strong straight-line speed, the Escape shines in everyday handling and driver feedback.
Drivers frequently ask if the Escape Plug-In Hybrid is genuinely engaging to drive, and the answer is yesâ"steering is direct and communicative, with minimal play. The eCVT in sport mode sharpens throttle response and holds power for quick maneuvers, creating a lively feel absent in many hybrids.
To experience the rewarding drive of the Escape Plug-In Hybrid, visit Lynch Ford Chevrolet at 410 Business 30 Sw Mt Vernon, IA 52314 or call 319-895-8500. Test its dynamic handling, responsive steering, and hybrid punch for yourselfâ"every commute and weekend drive can be more engaging and enjoyable behind the wheel of this SUV. KBB's Expert Review tells the story

White Escape Hybrid titanium. Glad we decided on this instead of Rav4. It's a luxury car for us 'middle-weight' type people. Everything is fine...right now. More satisfied with the 2020 model than our 2016 titanium. Quiet, handles well, like switches, leather upholstery comfortable, visibility good, safety good, very good audio, and good grunt when needed. Driving 2/3's city and 1/3rd highways(2 lane mostly) currently averaging 42.2 mpg!'… - 5.0
2021 Escape Titanium AWD
By Great One | on Saturday, June 26, 2021
So far my Escape has been great. I'm 6'2" and stocky and the cabin does not feel cramped. The backseat can slide forward and back a few inches which is nice also, I have not yet had any complaints about lack of space in the backseats. The 2.0L Ecoboost is definitely the way to go. It is fast and once I discovered the sport mode, I haven't really used any of the other ones. It accelerates quick and overtakes without breaking a sweat. Unfortunately Ford does not give you the option of choosing your default drive mode. So every time you start your vehicle you have to page through all the different modes until you get to the one you want. We get some snow where I live and the Escape did fine in light snow and ice. There's a drive mode for slippery conditions that slows the vehicle and lowers throttle response to prevent loss of traction. The stock tires are ok but not great in heavy rain and snow. I have not yet had the opportunity to try out the deep snow and sand mode yet. I noticed that TCS is disabled in that mode but I cannot comment on how throttle and shift points are affected. The entertainment center is responsive and intuitive. Apple car play can be spotty at times and won't connect properly. I have found that as long as I wait until everything has started up before plugging in my phone it works good. The B&O speakers sound fine but I could not tell a difference between any other car stereo I've ever had. Also the heads up display is a neat gimmick but it's just above the instrument cluster that displays all the same info. It will display driving directions but only if you use ford navigation. It does not interact with car play. The interior materials really do appear cheap, lots of plastic everywhere. Other than the accent panel that runs through the middle of the dash and a few pieces of leather on places you rest your arms on, it's all plastic. Adaptive cruise control works really well and I like that I can set the follow distance. Be careful on the highway, while trying to overtake with adaptive cruise active your vehicle may suddenly brake because of a semi or other slow moving vehicle up ahead. This has happened to me a few times and can be dangerous and unnerving if you drive aggressively. Parking assist is a cool feature and works as advertised most of the time. I've had a few instances where it tried to cram into too small of a spot and just stops after backing halfway in. High beams can be set to auto as well. So you can turn on auto lights and auto high beams and never touch either again, ever. Ford connect is an app you can download on your phone allowing you to remote start from the app. The app also displays lots of vehicle info, including tire pressure. With remote start, the climate control will default to where it was last set. Exterior trim scratches easily so be careful where you lean. I recommend the vehicle but only if you can get a good deal on it. It's pretty good at 30-32,000 but I wouldn't pay any more than that at the dealership.… - 4.0
Great little SUV

Got this Escape Titanium AWD for commuting. I drive 50 mi each way, 3 days a week. The active safety features were the big differentiator for me. CoPilot360 tech package with the adaptive cruise control is an absolute game changer. Parallel park assist is amazing. The vehicle is almost as comfortable as my full size pickup but with much better gas mileage. I would definitely recommend it.…
