Dealer Notes
The 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor stands out for its value by offering a robust 3.0L EcoBoost V6, 4WD, and an extensive suite of premium features as standard, including a panoramic glass roof, B&O sound, heated/ventilated front seats, and navigation. At this price point, most competitors charge extra for many of these amenities, positioning the Explorer as a smart, all-inclusive choice for maximizing your investment.
Analytical buyers comparing the Explorer Tremor to similarly priced SUVs will appreciate its comprehensive Equipment Group 800A Standard Package, which bundles luxury, convenience, and tech that typically cost extra elsewhere. With standard leather seating, 3rd row PowerFold seats, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and advanced climate control, it offers measurable feature-per-dollar superiority, making it ideal for those seeking quantifiable returns and long-term satisfaction.
Performance in this SUV is underscored by the 3.0L EcoBoost V6, paired with a 10-speed automatic and 4WD, delivering a power-to-price ratio that beats many rivals. The engine provides brisk acceleration and confident towing without a jump in cost. Maintenance is manageable due to Fordâs proven EcoBoost lineup. While EPA estimates for this trim are pending, EcoBoost versions commonly yield competitive efficiency, helping reduce total ownership costs.
Safety technology is a high-value highlight, with standard equipment including ABS, electronic stability control, 4-wheel disc brakes, a rearview camera, multiple airbags (front, side, knee, overhead), and Fordâs 911 Assist emergency communication. Features like rain-sensing wipers and auto high beams are standard, while many competitors reserve these for higher trims or as extra-cost options, increasing safety value for every buyer.
Key standard features in the Explorer Tremor include heated/ventilated Miko suede captainâs chairs, 10-speaker B&O audio, navigation, a panoramic fixed glass roof, a heated steering wheel, power liftgate, BlueCruise hardware, and multicontour front seats. The Tremor Ultimate Package further enhances comfort and functionality. These inclusions, often sold as premium add-ons elsewhere, come at no added cost, maximizing your equipment-to-price ratio.
Compared to the Toyota Highlander XSE and Honda Pilot TrailSport, the Explorer Tremor delivers a richer standard feature set and more powerful base engine without requiring costly package upgrades. While competitors may offer similar amenities, they are frequently locked behind higher trim levels or expensive bundles, making the Explorer the best value proposition for buyers who prioritize equipment, performance, and technology per dollar.
Standard equipment covers nearly every high-demand feature buyers ask about, from power-folding mirrors to 3-zone climate control. The Explorer Tremorâs blend of rugged capability and interior luxury justifies its price, especially as key features like B&O audio and BlueCruise hardware come standardâ"extras on many rivals. The Tremor trim represents the best value by combining off-road readiness and upscale appointments in a single, inclusive package.

Transmission
By Bruce Potter | on Monday, February 27, 2023
Transmission broke at 17000 took 3 months to get parts for rebuild, defrost strips coming off rear glass, replaced , fix rear camera twice, cracked catalytic converter left side, be nice car if I could keep it out of shop. So warranty has covered everything. Fun to drive, impressed with performance.… - 1.0
Another hacked together vehicle at a high cost
By AGlover | on Tuesday, July 05, 2022
Started with paneling popping off at Less than 5k miles, then the window became stuck in the down position, 2 hours at the dealer from them to just get it back up and tell us the post won’t be in for awhile, now the radio isn’t working. Every mechanical malfunction came with Parts that were scorching hot to the touch when trying to troubleshoot. It’s at 11500 miles, owned since March and have regretted it since.… - 4.0
3rd Explorer and still happy
By NoHo | on Wednesday, September 08, 2021
This is my third Explorer and I still love it. I drive about 25,000 a year with a heavy foot and typically drive my cars to the ground. In 4 months I’ve owned it, I already put 12,000 miles and fortunately zero issues, it’s swerving capabilities are still good, I enjoy the assisted driving, the sound from the speakers are clean and clear. It’s actually pretty quiet.…
