Dealer Notes
The 2026 Ford Maverick XLT AWD stands out as a smart money pick by offering an extensive list of standard features rarely matched at this price point. With AWD, the 2.0L EcoBoost engine, 8-speed automatic transmission, 4K Tow Package, Ford Co-Pilot360, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a full suite of active safety tech included, buyers receive more standard content than most competitorsâ base trims. This value-rich configuration delivers modern connectivity, proven reliability, and utility without premium markups.
Analytical buyers searching for maximum value will appreciate how the Maverick XLTâs standard and package features align with spreadsheet-driven decision making. Itâs ideal for those who compare equipment lists and total cost of ownership, thanks to AWD, advanced infotainment, a 12-speaker system, and the XLT Luxury Package all included. This truck is designed for people who want to pay for genuine utility and comfort, not just a badge or unnecessary extras.
Performance value is a strong suit for the Maverick. The turbocharged 2.0L I4 EcoBoost delivers a potent 250 horsepower, paired with an efficient 8-speed automatic. With AWD and the 4K Tow Package, it tows up to 4,000 poundsâ"outpunching rivals like the Hyundai Santa Cruz at a similar price. EPA estimates of 22 city/30 highway MPG translate to annual fuel savings of $300â"$500 versus larger trucks, and the EcoBoostâs low-maintenance design keeps long-term running costs reasonable.
Safety value is maximized by the inclusion of Ford Co-Pilot360 as standard equipment on this XLT. This suite includes Blind Spot Monitoring, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping, and a Rear View Camera, all without extra cost. Where some rivals reserve these features for higher trims or optional bundles, the Maverick makes them baseline. Four-wheel disc brakes, ABS, and electronic stability control further ensure peace of mind.
Feature-packed is an understatement: Equipment Group 302A and the XLT Luxury Package bring heated front seats, a power driver seat, dual-zone climate control, remote start, and a premium 12-speaker audio systemâ"all included. SYNC 4 with enhanced voice recognition, 5G modem, SiriusXM with 360L, and alloy wheels add modern convenience. The 4K Tow Package and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto round out a robust standard equipment list that typically costs extra elsewhere.
Compared to the Hyundai Santa Cruz SEL and Honda Ridgeline Sport, the Maverick XLT offers AWD, turbo power, advanced safety, and premium infotainment for less. While Santa Cruz charges extra for similar towing and the Ridgelineâs entry trim lacks many tech features, this truck delivers best-in-class standard feature content and superior value, maximizing utility per dollar spent and minimizing compromise.
Standard equipment includes AWD, Ford Co-Pilot360, 12-speaker audio, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, heated seats, and the 4K Tow Package. This configuration is widely regarded as the best trim for value, balancing price and features. Premium tech, towing capacity, and safety systems are all included here, while most competitors require costly upgrades. The Maverickâs total package makes it a value leader in the midsize truck segment.

A solid choice
By Jdav | on Sunday, January 29, 2023
I’ve had my Lariat for 6 months now and I am happy with it. Although the entry models are very well priced for a brand new vehicle, I chose the Lariat without any upgrade packages as the XL & XLT do not have the current “luxuries” that most would consider standard in a new vehicle. (Push start, dash screen, “leather” seats) The Maverick is the perfect vehicle to suit work and everyday life without breaking the bank. Pros: well priced, well designed interior with ample storage, good on gas, comfortable seats, strong engine, great handling and overall feel without the overbearing ride and size of a truck. Cons: engine auto stop/start cannot be permanently disengaged, sync/bluetooth system can be glitchy on occasion, wind noise at highway speed is noticeable, adding extras to your build can get very pricey.… - 5.0
If you miss the Ford Rangers from the 90's
By Maverick Guy | on Friday, September 30, 2022
It took me a year, but this past summer my Ford Maverick finally came in. I got the XLT trim with only 2 options, the Blind Spot and the 2.0 Eco Boost engine for more power. So far, it has been a great truck. If I watch my rpm.s, in the econ mode I get 30 mpg around town and on the hwy. The only issue so far is a clicking type rattle in my dash that only happens on certain slow bumps in my neighborhood, once I am on the highway it goes away. Strange. Anyway, if you miss the Ford Rangers from the 90s, this truck reminds me of a 1996 Ranger I used to have back then. It is a very solid truck, loads of room in the cabin, great bed to work with, and since it is front wheel drive I am looking fwd to seeing how it does in the snow this winter. If you order one, get the Lariat, for a few thousand more it is worth it. Hope this review helps ! PS, I was thinking of ordering a 2023 Ford Bronco 2 door, but when I sat in one at a local car show, I realized my Maverick was much more roomier and comfortable than the full size Bronco. I will stick with my Maverick !… - 5.0
2 Maverick Family

Reviewed my 22 lariat AWD last year when I’d had it for 2 days gave it a 4 star after owning it 18 months and 29K miles I’d raise my satisfaction rate to 4.7 stars. Great milage averaging 33mpg. Like it so much bought the wife a slightly used 23 lariat hybrid. Like it even better than the AWD after 4K and 1 month ownership averaging 46mpg that’s 75% highway. Pros: mileage on either hybrid or AWD model, ride is not too bad, fells planted to road, adaptive cruise/ lane keep/ aeb braking. Easy to park Cons: no power passenger seat, no fog lights, door pockets are worthless can’t keep travel mug or bottled water in as they won’t fit, ice scraper falls out every time open or close door. no auto dimming rear view mirror, bed leaks with installed cover, not enough room to adjust power seat with door closed. If Ford would fix a few minor things they’d have the perfect truck.…
