Dealer Notes
The 2026 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid delivers standout long-term ownership value by combining proven hybrid reliability with low scheduled maintenance and strong resale appeal. Its 2.5L I-4 Hybrid engine, front-wheel drive, and advanced CVT are engineered for durability, achieving an impressive EPA-estimated 42 mpg city and 35 mpg highway, minimizing fuel costs over years of use.
Pragmatic buyers seeking a high-value compact truck will appreciate the Maverick XLT's blend of utility, comfort, and efficiency. Its crew cab layout provides ample space for passengers and cargo while features like Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a rearview camera, and SYNC 4 technology cater to daily usability. The hybrid powertrain and advanced safety systems suit drivers prioritizing reliability and low total cost of ownership.
This truck is built with a proven hybrid powertrain, leveraging a 2.5L I-4 engine paired to a CVT for seamless, efficient performance and a reputation for 150,000+ miles with minimal major repairs. The 2.91 axle ratio and front-wheel drive system optimize traction and drivetrain longevity. Owners benefit from rare hybrid truck efficiency, supporting city commuters and light-duty users with minimal long-term service needs.
Advanced safety systems like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Keeping System, and Intersection Assist help prevent accidents and reduce potential ownership costs. Emergency communication via SYNC 4 911 Assist and a comprehensive airbag suite work as investment protection, shielding drivers from costly incidents and supporting strong insurance value over time.
Included features from Equipment Group 300A and the XLT Luxury Package add functional value: 12-speaker audio, automatic temperature control, alloy wheels, SiriusXM 360L, and power accessories enhance daily comfort. The 5G modem enables Ford Connectivity services, while the rearview camera, auto high-beams, and steering wheel audio controls boost convenience, reducing the need for aftermarket upgrades.
Ownership economics remain favorable compared to rivals like the Hyundai Santa Cruz and Honda Ridgeline. The Maverickâs hybrid system delivers lower fuel costs and fewer service intervals, while Fordâs reputation for compact truck durability promotes slower depreciation. Its standard features and technology further support value retention, outpacing many segment competitors in total ownership cost.
Oil changes for the Maverick Hybrid are typically recommended every 10,000 miles, and its advanced hybrid system reduces wear on engine components, extending intervals between major services. The vehicle achieves 42 mpg city and 35 mpg highway, superior to most other compact trucks. Fordâs hybrid reliability is supported by an 8-year/100,000-mile hybrid warranty, with the comprehensive warranty covering 3 years/36,000 miles.

A solid choice
By Jdav | on Sunday, January 29, 2023
I’ve had my Lariat for 6 months now and I am happy with it. Although the entry models are very well priced for a brand new vehicle, I chose the Lariat without any upgrade packages as the XL & XLT do not have the current “luxuries” that most would consider standard in a new vehicle. (Push start, dash screen, “leather” seats) The Maverick is the perfect vehicle to suit work and everyday life without breaking the bank. Pros: well priced, well designed interior with ample storage, good on gas, comfortable seats, strong engine, great handling and overall feel without the overbearing ride and size of a truck. Cons: engine auto stop/start cannot be permanently disengaged, sync/bluetooth system can be glitchy on occasion, wind noise at highway speed is noticeable, adding extras to your build can get very pricey.… - 5.0
If you miss the Ford Rangers from the 90's
By Maverick Guy | on Friday, September 30, 2022
It took me a year, but this past summer my Ford Maverick finally came in. I got the XLT trim with only 2 options, the Blind Spot and the 2.0 Eco Boost engine for more power. So far, it has been a great truck. If I watch my rpm.s, in the econ mode I get 30 mpg around town and on the hwy. The only issue so far is a clicking type rattle in my dash that only happens on certain slow bumps in my neighborhood, once I am on the highway it goes away. Strange. Anyway, if you miss the Ford Rangers from the 90s, this truck reminds me of a 1996 Ranger I used to have back then. It is a very solid truck, loads of room in the cabin, great bed to work with, and since it is front wheel drive I am looking fwd to seeing how it does in the snow this winter. If you order one, get the Lariat, for a few thousand more it is worth it. Hope this review helps ! PS, I was thinking of ordering a 2023 Ford Bronco 2 door, but when I sat in one at a local car show, I realized my Maverick was much more roomier and comfortable than the full size Bronco. I will stick with my Maverick !… - 5.0
2 Maverick Family

Reviewed my 22 lariat AWD last year when I’d had it for 2 days gave it a 4 star after owning it 18 months and 29K miles I’d raise my satisfaction rate to 4.7 stars. Great milage averaging 33mpg. Like it so much bought the wife a slightly used 23 lariat hybrid. Like it even better than the AWD after 4K and 1 month ownership averaging 46mpg that’s 75% highway. Pros: mileage on either hybrid or AWD model, ride is not too bad, fells planted to road, adaptive cruise/ lane keep/ aeb braking. Easy to park Cons: no power passenger seat, no fog lights, door pockets are worthless can’t keep travel mug or bottled water in as they won’t fit, ice scraper falls out every time open or close door. no auto dimming rear view mirror, bed leaks with installed cover, not enough room to adjust power seat with door closed. If Ford would fix a few minor things they’d have the perfect truck.…
