Fantastic SUV at a reasonable price
by EquinoxToad on Friday, March 19, 2021
I have the 2.0L engine, which is a significant upgrade from the base engine. With its power, it makes the car fun to drive and still gets great MPG. Like most American auto brands, you can get this vehicle at a significant discount under the "MSRP", making this a great vehicle for the price. So many people complain about the start/stop feature not having the ability to disable. Yes, it I agree it should have it, however, this system is the smoothest I've felt versus many other automakers. Because it is so smooth, it doesn't bother me at all. I usually can't tell when the engine turns off. Maybe this only applies to the 20.L and the 1.5L is more harsh. I'm not sure. Either way, it saves fuel and does its job very well. The Equinox's biggest downfall is the cheap plastics used inside. The most bothersome being the turn signal indicator (yes, I'm one of the few that still use it). It is very cheap plastic and feels like it'll fall off with every use. - 5.0
I see only operator difficulties, mechanically fin

Driving this is a pleasure. What I don't like is the pillar between windshield seems thicker than necessary and hampers view. The armrest is too far rearward and difficult to access the interior. The safety belt comes out of the door pillar tight against the plastic and I feel should be a half inch away so it would be easier to grab. The safety features are simply great, the seat fits great, the turbo gives plenty of get up and go, the AWD is fantastic on snow. All in all if the auto gives service for its lifetime as the first 1000 miles have, I will be very pleased. - 5.0

Premium fuel recommended per owners manual and decal inside gas door. The government web site stated tested as premium. From what I could tell by reviewing an article or two the vehicle probably runs well but performance will be slightly less(prob includes mileage)with reg..The dealer never mentioned this to me nor did another dealer to a relative that bought the 2.0.Manual says use premium if it knocks.I had a chance to back out of our deal but didnt because this a low mileage vehicle for us-love the car otherwise.
