Notes from the dealer
Tech-savvy drivers who value staying linked to their digital lives will appreciate the Explorer's wireless app integration, multi-device Bluetooth, and customizable digital cockpit. Its dual-zone automatic climate control, power-fold 3rd row, and heated/ventilated seats cater to busy families or professionals who expect comfort and smart functionality from every seat.
The Explorer Platinum's 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering smooth, responsive shifts aided by electronic drive modes for terrain and weather adaptation. Electronic throttle mapping and advanced traction control optimize performance, while the intelligent 4WD system uses sensors to distribute power precisely. Hill start assist and rain-sensing wipers further enhance the tech-forward driving experience.
This SUV's smart safety is anchored by Ford's Co-Pilot360 suite, including Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and a 360-degree camera system. Ultrasonic sensors and radar deliver real-time hazard alerts, while active braking and lane centering use continuous data processing to proactively avoid collisions. The systemâs multi-camera array aids parking and maneuvering, providing visual feeds to the central touchscreen.
Technology-focused features include a panoramic moonroof, wireless charging pad, remote start via the FordPass app, and a customizable 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The power liftgate, hands-free controls, B&O premium audio, and quilted leather seats enhance comfort and style. Keyless entry, memory seating, and heated steering wheel add convenience, while the Lux Leather Package brings visual refinement.
Against competitors like the Chevrolet Traverse High Country and Toyota Highlander Platinum, the Explorer Platinum stands out with its larger infotainment screen, superior B&O audio, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, and a more comprehensive app ecosystem. Remote vehicle controls through FordPass and frequent over-the-air updates keep the Explorer digitally ahead.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, eliminating the need for cables. Driver assistance tech includes adaptive cruise, lane centering, blind spot alerts, and a 360-degree camera. The infotainment system is notably larger and more responsive than most rivals, supporting voice commands and custom app layouts. Remote start, lock, and vehicle location are accessible via smartphone app integration for added convenience.

Served our family well!
by Beth on 2/19/2026 11:46:55 PM
Trading my car in next week, I am gonna miss my Explorer. It’s been a good family car. Draw backs: the screen is glitchy at times. Some electronics malfunctioned and I won’t lie, they can be costly to fix. Comfortable, spacious. I never had any mechanical problems with the car, but I did take very good care of it at well. I maintained all recommended services and any replacements were all genuine Ford parts. I hope whoever buys our car, loves it as much as we did. - 5.0
2025 Ford Explorer Active, RWD
by Matt on 1/14/2026 12:13:01 PM
Hello everyone! I had this car for about 3 months and I absolutely love it! I love how reliable it is and how quick it can get when it’s needed. The 3rd row is tight, it is a mid-size SUV after all. If you have a bigger family, I would suggest getting a full size SUV. Unfortunately, there are a few issues that I’ve noticed. 1. Sometimes, the car stalls/jerks a little bit when accelerating. It doesn’t happen much. 2. On the infotainment screen, I can’t download or update any apps. It says pending and it keeps spinning over and over again. (it is a computer after all) I have an appointment soon to get these issues fixed but other than that, it’s been amazing. I am so very grateful for this car. It is my first real car I’ve ever had and I’m so lucky to have a choice for once for something I actually want. - 4.0
