Dealer Notes
The 2025 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid stands out among compact pickups like the Hyundai Santa Cruz and Honda Ridgeline by offering standard hybrid efficiency, all-wheel drive, and robust feature content at a highly competitive price point. Its 2.5L I-4 hybrid engine delivers a remarkable 40 city/34 highway MPG, making it the smart, fuel-saving choice for drivers who demand versatility and economy.
Shoppers comparing several compact trucks will find the 2025 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid excels for those seeking daily drivability, practical payload, and modern comfort. This Maverick is especially well-suited for active commuters, urban explorers, and small business owners who want flexible seating, advanced safety tech, and the all-weather confidence of AWDâ"all without sacrificing efficiency.
While competitors like the Santa Cruz may tout turbo options, the Maverick XLT Hybrid delivers a balanced blend of power and economy with its 2.5L I-4 hybrid engine paired to a CVT. The instant torque and smooth acceleration are ideal for city traffic, while the AWD system offers surefooted performance on wet or uneven surfaces. Four-wheel independent suspension and electronic stability control further enhance driving confidenceâ"advantages not always matched by rivals.
Advanced safety is a strength of the 2025 Maverick XLT Hybrid, with standard features such as Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, a rear-view camera, multiple airbags (front, knee, side, and overhead), ABS, and electronic stability control. While some competitors charge extra for these technologies, they come standard here, offering peace of mind in every drive without additional costs.
Equipment Group 301A and the XLT Luxury Package combine to deliver 17-inch alloy wheels, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, SiriusXM with 360L, automatic climate control, unique cloth bucket seats, and a 12-speaker sound system. The SYNC 4 with 911 Assist, power accessories, remote keyless entry, and a host of convenience features transform daily errands and weekend adventures into comfortable, connected experiences.
Compared to the Hyundai Santa Cruz and Honda Ridgeline, the Maverick XLT Hybrid sets itself apart with its class-leading fuel efficiency, standard AWD on the hybrid, and comprehensive feature set. While Ridgeline offers V6 power, it lacks a hybrid option. The Maverick delivers proven value, lower running costs, and innovative safety as standard, making it the best-rounded choice.
Drivers frequently ask why the Maverick Hybrid is the smart pick. It uniquely combines segment-leading hybrid mileage, practical all-wheel drive, and high-value features in one package. Unlike others, it integrates advanced safety and connectivity as standard equipment. For buyers cross-shopping, the Maverick offers the best overall value and versatility for daily use, light hauling, and inclement weather conditions.

A solid choice
By Jdav | on Sunday, January 29, 2023
I’ve had my Lariat for 6 months now and I am happy with it. Although the entry models are very well priced for a brand new vehicle, I chose the Lariat without any upgrade packages as the XL & XLT do not have the current “luxuries” that most would consider standard in a new vehicle. (Push start, dash screen, “leather” seats) The Maverick is the perfect vehicle to suit work and everyday life without breaking the bank. Pros: well priced, well designed interior with ample storage, good on gas, comfortable seats, strong engine, great handling and overall feel without the overbearing ride and size of a truck. Cons: engine auto stop/start cannot be permanently disengaged, sync/bluetooth system can be glitchy on occasion, wind noise at highway speed is noticeable, adding extras to your build can get very pricey.… - 5.0
If you miss the Ford Rangers from the 90's
By Maverick Guy | on Friday, September 30, 2022
It took me a year, but this past summer my Ford Maverick finally came in. I got the XLT trim with only 2 options, the Blind Spot and the 2.0 Eco Boost engine for more power. So far, it has been a great truck. If I watch my rpm.s, in the econ mode I get 30 mpg around town and on the hwy. The only issue so far is a clicking type rattle in my dash that only happens on certain slow bumps in my neighborhood, once I am on the highway it goes away. Strange. Anyway, if you miss the Ford Rangers from the 90s, this truck reminds me of a 1996 Ranger I used to have back then. It is a very solid truck, loads of room in the cabin, great bed to work with, and since it is front wheel drive I am looking fwd to seeing how it does in the snow this winter. If you order one, get the Lariat, for a few thousand more it is worth it. Hope this review helps ! PS, I was thinking of ordering a 2023 Ford Bronco 2 door, but when I sat in one at a local car show, I realized my Maverick was much more roomier and comfortable than the full size Bronco. I will stick with my Maverick !… - 5.0

Reviewed my 22 lariat AWD last year when I’d had it for 2 days gave it a 4 star after owning it 18 months and 29K miles I’d raise my satisfaction rate to 4.7 stars. Great milage averaging 33mpg. Like it so much bought the wife a slightly used 23 lariat hybrid. Like it even better than the AWD after 4K and 1 month ownership averaging 46mpg that’s 75% highway. Pros: mileage on either hybrid or AWD model, ride is not too bad, fells planted to road, adaptive cruise/ lane keep/ aeb braking. Easy to park Cons: no power passenger seat, no fog lights, door pockets are worthless can’t keep travel mug or bottled water in as they won’t fit, ice scraper falls out every time open or close door. no auto dimming rear view mirror, bed leaks with installed cover, not enough room to adjust power seat with door closed. If Ford would fix a few minor things they’d have the perfect truck.…
